I would suspect this was intended given that, otherwise, the line between Garchomp-Mega and Garchomp-Mega-Z (and Z-Megas in general) gets really thin.I just realized a weird scenario for mons having multiple forms that got a Mega in Z-A. While base forms' usage stats are combined into the base form, Megas are counted individually. Legends Z-A OU stats show this for Meowstic-M-Mega/Meowstic-F-Mega and Tatsugiri-* (I guess Magearna-Original would have the same issue). Is this intended?
I was referring to Pokémon with multiple forms having a mega, rather than Pokémon with a single form having multiple megas. The issue is specifically with "cosmetic" forms, whose usage stats have always been combined into one, but now their megas are separate.I would suspect this was intended given that, otherwise, the line between Garchomp-Mega and Garchomp-Mega-Z (and Z-Megas in general) gets really thin.
Given that Z-Megas, X-Megas, and Y-Megas absolutely deserve to have separate usage stats (and different tiers, different banned statuses, etc.), other separate Mega forms are understandable collateral damage.
Hmm, I suppose we can try treating Pokemon with Megas rather like Pokemon without Megas and similarly try treating some Pokemon species as "Cosmetic forms only" (e.g. Florges-*, Pyroar-Mega-M, Pyroar-Mega-F, Tatsugiri-Mega-* right now). Unfortunately, we cannot use the same flag for Regular Cosmetic Forms and Mega Cosmetic Forms, as Meowstic has competitively relevant regular forms (Meowstic-M, Meowstic-F) but only cosmetic Mega forms...I was referring to Pokémon with multiple forms having a mega, rather than Pokémon with a single form having multiple megas. The thing is Meowstic-F (non-mega), even if not strictly cosmetic, does not have its own usage stats as it is combined into Meowstic. This has always been the case. Now that they have megas, there's an inconsistency.Hmm, I suppose we can try treating Pokemon with Megas rather like Pokemon without Megas and similarly try treating some Pokemon species as "Cosmetic forms only" (e.g. Florges-*, Pyroar-Mega-M, Pyroar-Mega-F, Tatsugiri-Mega-* right now). EDIT: The more I think about exactly the Meowstic situation, the more I actually think Meowstic-Mega-M and Meowstic-Mega-F still need to be tracked separately. Even in Champions, Meowstic-M and Meowstic-F still have differences in their movepools, and therefore their Megas, despite being visually indistinguishable and having the same ability, also have differences in their movepools. Those differences are enough to get these Megas tiered differently, and therefore, these Megas are not cosmetic Megas and should be tracked separately.

I'm surprised the Meowstics are data collected together despite having separate (hidden) abilities and movepools. Frankly, I think they should have been data collected separately from the start. The thing is Meowstic-F (non-mega), even if not strictly cosmetic, does not have its own usage stats as it is combined into Meowstic. That's why I originally mentioned Tatsugiri and Magearna too.
