Hoennseptile play Ubers this week for Taka after the Gibles is out of the playoff pictures. Vitiate loaded almost a full physically offensive team consist of the classic Ekiller Gambit core and with only Lunala as the special attacker, which I would call this very courageous in the current Wisp meta. Hoennseptile also loaded something very rare, An Eleceus balance with Pecharunt, the OU famous spinblocker, in the Ubers team. Pecharunt did have some roles to play in the Ubers, thanks to its immense physical bulk with access to Foul play and parting shot, it is able to disturb the physical attacker on the opposing team and its poison type is also helpful to absorb tspikes for teammates, especially Eleceus in this case. The MU looks pretty good for Hoennseptile, The typical Eleceus wisp set may largely disrupt the game plan for Vitiate, and the Ting-lu also looks troublesome for Vitiate as his Lunala pretty much wallled by it unless being super lucky with focus blast, and Ekiller being walled by Pecharunt as well.
Vititate leaded Landorus-T which later revealed to be a suicide sash lead, putting rocks and went down to an immediately Life Orb Koraidon showcase to put pressure on Hoennseptile. Hoennseptile trying to block scaleshot by going Zacian-C and was immediately taken by a Life Orb Close Combat. With nothing else seems faster than Koraidon on the team, Hoennseptile went his own Koraidon. Vitiate denied a potential Speedtie or not wanting to risk a potential scarfer here, retreated to Lunala on a Close Combat, then double back to Koraidon on a Ting-Lu switch-in. This time, Hoennseptile went Pecharunt on Close Combat, then Parting shot out to Ting-Lu on the Sun turns ended. Vitiate decided to scout a potential Tera with Swords Dance while Hoennseptile clicked Earthquake to deal significant damage on -1 Koraidon, and surprise to Vitiate the +2 Close Combat did not take out Ting-Lu as it was revealed to be a Chople Berry, and got revenged by the second Earthquake. However as Ting-Lu went low, Vitiate's Lunala was able to pick off Ting-Lu with Moongeist Beam and revealed to be a leftovers Lunala as well. Without Ting-Lu, Hoennseptile's team may find this Lunala problematic to deal with, especially with Tera poison that may pretty much seal the game for Vitiate with a physically bulky CM set of Lunala.
Hoennseptile surprisingly went to Pecharunt on Lunala, and this time Vitiate did not aware of any potential threat here, stayed with Lunala and the Pecharunt tera Dark to not only survived the Moongeist Beam, but also revenge the Lunala with 4x effective STAB Foul play after Tera Dark. All of a sudden Vitiate is out of its Special attacker and the rest of his team seems struggling against the Dark type physical wall Pecharunt access to a Stab Foul Play. Ekiller proved itself to be a do nothing cutie against Pecharunt, and Vitiate trying to set up Kingambit with the Dark type resistance, where Hoennseptile safely switches to Koraidon via Parting shot.
Things went weird from here. Obviously an Air Balloon Kingambit is not able to one shot a healthy Koraidon, so its kinda forced to Tera here to avoid Koraidon killing it straight away, as the Necrozma-DM as the last mon does not seem to be anywhere close to have hope against Tera Dark Pecharunt and the potential Wisp Eleceus with Kyogre at the back limiting its Recovery. However, Hoennseptile clicked U-Turn instead on Vitiate's
Tera Ghost, a common Tera in OU but super rare Tera pick of the Ubers Kingambit, result in Hoennseptile has to give up a mon on an incoming +2 attack from fallen 4 Kingambit. He decided to give up Kyogre, and another surprise came with Vitiate revealed Low Kick on Kingambit which is also very rare in an Ubers Kingambit, but this is actually a good news for Hoennseptile as Pecharunt is very light and Low Kick is basically not doing anything to Pecharunt even if super effective, so the game is down to Vitiate's Necrozma-DM trying to 1v3 here. It first clicked moonlight to kill Koraidon via recoil damage from Flare Blitz as the damage shown it is a super bulky Necrozma-DM with leftovers, which basically indicated it is a IDCM set with leftovers revealed. Normally it is completely walled by any Dark type and Hoennseptile has a Dark Type right here with the Tera Dark Pecharunt, but it is actually very tricky as Hoennseptile's Pecharunt is already used up many PP and Vitiate's Necrozma-DM is in a PP advantage. On top of that, parting shot here is actually harming Hoennseptile as it forced a switch with Stealth Rock on the field, and as Pecharunt is faster, it means that if a parting shot is clicked on a set-up Stored power, that would make Eleceus instant dead and Pecharunt will eventually loses in PP war. So now it is Hoennseptile first priority to cut the PP difference down to +1 so that Necrozma-DM will die to Struggle recoil first, but Hoennseptile did not play the optimal sequence here with Eleceus versus Necrozma-DM, which result in Vitiate won the game with 1 turn left at the end.
For whom may find interested on how the correct sequence should be played, since it is a bit too long to explain every detail here, you may check the following replays from
Turn 17 and comparing it to the original replay (corresponding to Turn 27 in the Vitiate vs Hoennseptile game) :
