Mega-Mawile Team

Hello, my name is Alcamite and this is my pokebank ou team. This team is centered around Mega-Mawile, removing her counters and sweep. The 5 other pokemon I've selected are specifically designed to remove threats to Mawile. Now that's out of the way, lets begin my team analysis.

Mawile @ Mawilite
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 132 HP / 252 Atk / 124 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Fire Fang Swords Dance
- Play Rough
- Sucker Punch
- Substitute

First off the center of my team, Mawile. 252 atk evs with Adamant nature for maximum damage output. 124 spd evs to out-speed Scizor, Azumarill, and Aegislash; the rest in Hp. Play rough and sucker punch are a must on any Mawile set; giving her her strongest attack and priority. Fire fang over iron head to hit Ferrothorn, Skarmory, and any other steel types Magnezone failed to bring down. Substitute over swords dance to further aid in preventing status and forcing opponents to attack. Edit: Changed fire fang to swords dance due to replacing Magnezone with Heatran.

Heatran @ Air Balloon
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SDef / 4 Spd
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Stealth Rock
- Lava Plume
- Ancient Power
- Roar

Magnezone, my steel remover. His job is to remove problem steel pokemon like Ferrothorn, Skarmory, and others. 252 SAtk with modest nature for maximum damage. 128 Spd to out-speed Skarmory, Aegislash, and Scizor (Mega Too), the rest in HP for bulk. Magnezone cannot bring down Lucario or Escadrill. Edit: Raplaced Magnezone with specially defensive Heatran. Kiss my ass Genesect.

Mandibuzz (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Overcoat
EVs: 248 HP / 216 Def / 44 SDef
Impish Nature
- Foul Play
- Roost
- Knock Off
- Defog

Mandibuzz is my physical wall. Her job is to remove physical threats like Aegislash. 248 HP to take stealth rock a little easier and maximize bulk. 216 Def and 44 SDef to increase durability. Foul play and knock off are Mandy's best attacks to punish physical attackers and remove items. Roost for recovery and defog to remove hazards. I have not come across a match where I wished I ran taunt or whirlwind.

Rotom-Wash @ Chesto Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 48 Def / 208 SDef
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Volt Switch
- Will-O-Wisp
- Hydro Pump
- Rest

Sylveon is my favorite pokemon from gen 6 and as a eeveelution. To me this is the best wish passer. 252 HP to maximize bulk and 252 Def for durability. Wish, protect, and heal bell are standard for cleric pokemon. Pixilate hyper voice is my choice for attacking move. Hyper Voice receives a nice boost at 175.5 BP (90 * 1.3(pixilate) * 1.5(Stab) = 175.5 (correct me if my math is wrong)) and is able to go through substitute. Edit: Replaced Sylveon with Rotom-W to add momentum this team lacked. Rotom's job is to bully Heatran, Talonflame, and whatever else. I will miss you Sylveon.

Trevenant @ Leftovers
Ability: Harvest Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 180 Def / 76 Spd
Impish Nature
- Horn Leech
- Earthquake
- Will-O-Wisp
- Rest

Trevenant is the newest addition to my team. Trev's job is to remove ground pokes and fighting types giving Mandy trouble. 252 HP to maximize bulk, 180 Def for durability, and 76 Spd to out-speed Scizor(0 Spd Evs) and T-tar to burn them. Horn leech for stab and recovery, Earthquake to hit steel types, Will-O-Wisp to burn things and Rest with lum berry for recovery. Trev's my to-go pokemon to check Escadrill and Lucario. Trev is able to check physical Mega-Lucario however is 2HKO by an un-boosted dark pulse from special Lucario.

Talonflame @ Sharp Beak
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 112 HP / 252 Atk / 144 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Will-O-Wisp Swords Dance
- Brave Bird
- Roost
- Flare Blitz

Talonflame job is abuse gale wings to it's fullest. 252 Atk with Adamant and sharp beak makes for a powerful brave bird. For this Talon, I made it more bulky. I am still working on a better ev spread so any suggestions will be appreciated. Will-O-Wisp is a great surprise factor on Talon; burns things that check her. The other moves are standard. Edit: Ev's changes based on TCR's suggestion.

Problems:

Escadril, Lucario, and fire types are the biggest problems on my team. Genesect, Heatran, and Lucario are pokemon that I have problems against.

Lucario was not a big problem on showdown. Mawile took it down in 1 hit in a few battles I had against them. You DO however DON'T have fighting moves.

Thank you 1337evan for looking at my team.Today I discovered that Genesect and Heatran make mincemeat to my team. I am considering dropping Magnezone and Talonflame for Heatran and Keldeo.

Hey man, got the request! This looks like a pretty fun team to play, however I dont really have much experience with it, so just take my advice with a grain of salt. However I see two things, one of which you httad already pointed out. The first is that Talonflame causes you major issues, setting up on tree, sylveon, etc. similarily, Charizard gives you problems, both variants. You also have no clear win condition, so your team really has no purpose. I would drop Magnezone for Heatran as you said, because it stops Talonflame and Charizard Y, and with an Air Balloon you stop charizard X as well, as well as mixed Char Y.

Next, as a special wall, Sylveon is ok i guess, but your team really doesnt need wish passing, as its not a stall oriented team. Switching in Sylveon really sucks all momentum away. Plus Genesect still hurts like a bitch. Try out Rotom-W. Either variant works, but i prefer Chestoresto. Your choice however. Rotom gives you an excellent genesect switch in tandem with Heatran, and keeps up momentum as well.

Since you run Heatran, who manhandles steel types, I suggest running Swords Dance>Fire Fang on Mawile. It gives you an excellent late game win condition. Like seriously, +2 Mawile is probably the scariest thing to fce, especially if behind a sub, because it forces the sucker punch. Next, I suggest Natural Cure+Rest Trevenant, just because Harvest is gimmicky and doesnt always work. Then you can also run Leftovers or something. Lastly, for Talonflame, I suggest an EV Spread of Jolly 252 Atk/ 144 Spe/ 112 HP. This outspeeds Pinsir and Mega Lucario, giving you some leeway for your team. Hope I helped! Good Luck with your team!
