SM OU Hyper Aggressive Tapu Koko + Hawlucha Team

Introduction

**This is Team Hyuga. It is what I would like to think a hyper aggressive team that supports itself decently. I chose these Pokémon because they’re synergetic and handle most of the meta well. I’d like to weed out the minor issues I think this team suffers which is priority, too many battles I’ve had in the bag just to lose to priority but I’ve also won decidedly a lot of times as well. **

Team Hyuga

Tapu Koko @ Life Orb
Ability: Electric Surge
EVs: 252 SpA / 56 SpD / 200 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Dazzling Gleam
- Thunder
- Hidden Power
- Volt Switch
**This one is self explanatory. Staple Pokémon and also my Hawlucha support. Mainly used to counter any water, flying or to scout out what the opponent has. Gave a little more bulk so it could take a couple hits and pivot out. I gave it hidden power Ice to attempt to take out lando-t**

Hawlucha (M) @ Electric Seed
Ability: Unburden
EVs: 96 HP / 252 Atk / 36 SpD / 124 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Acrobatics
- Poison Jab
- Swords Dance
- High Jump Kick
**This is my hidden weapon, blistering speed after unburden kicks in and improved defense after electric seed. Hits hard and hits fast, able to counter Celesteela that runs heavy slam and does it’s job well of pressuring opponents and distrupting their set up**

Lopunny-Mega (M) @ Lopunnite
Ability: Scrappy
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
No Nature Nature
- Fake Out
- Return
- High Jump Kick
- Ice Punch
**Mega Lopunny is my scout/Lead most battles and does insanely well in checking mega gengar in rated battles and Pokémon like him. She’s able to hold her own against most and always force switches the first turn which gives me a free fake out hit and a chance to see their second Pokémon early on and form a game plan. If they don’t switch I know they usually have something that can take her out so I do my best to predict. **

Greninja (M) @ Waterium Z
Ability: Protean
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Ice Beam
- Dark Pulse
- Hydro Pump
- Gunk Shot
**Greninja is my specialist. He can switch typing to get the STAB and advantage on the go and hits hard with his Z move to force damage protect blaziken. Thus pressuring the opponent more. Also my lando check and covers mega metagross with 2HKO dark pulses. Especially when they switch him in to a dark pulse.**

Kartana @ Focus Sash
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Smart Strike
- Leaf Blade
- Swords Dance
- Sacred Sword
**Kartana is my sweeper and I rarely get the chance to comfortably play him due to the more popular skill link users but when the opportunity comes Kartana always seals me the W. Focus sash just to ensure no OHKO and knock out most lower health Pokémon**

Muk-Alola @ Assault Vest
Ability: Poison Touch
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Shadow Sneak
- Knock Off
- Poison Jab
- Pursuit
**This is my newest addition, I struggled with the sixth slot and chose A-Muk to fight off the Tapu’s . Can hold his own and always poisons the opponent and wears down the bulkier matchups. I’d like my aim for Muk to provide the necessary strength to finish the job after poisoning so will need suggestions. Tapu LeLe being the main focus.**

Conclusion

**In conclusion , I wanted a hyper aggressive team that can adapt to the current situation. A team where I can make opponents suffer when they decide to switch and now have only half health and must either let the KO or switch again. The idea of always having momentum and pressuring the opponent. A fatal weakness is protect teams. As that destroys my high jump kickers...**

Tapu Koko @ Life Orb
Ability: Electric Surge
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 SpA / 56 SpD / 200 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Dazzling Gleam
- Thunder
- Hidden Power
- Volt Switch

Hawlucha (M) @ Electric Seed
Ability: Unburden
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 96 HP / 252 Atk / 36 SpD / 124 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Acrobatics
- Poison Jab
- Swords Dance
- High Jump Kick

Lopunny-Mega (M) @ Lopunnite
Ability: Scrappy
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
- Fake Out
- Return
- High Jump Kick
- Ice Punch

Greninja (M) @ Waterium Z
Ability: Protean
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Ice Beam
- Dark Pulse
- Hydro Pump
- Gunk Shot

Kartana @ Focus Sash

EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe

- Smart Strike
- Leaf Blade
- Swords Dance
- Sacred Sword

Muk-Alola @ Assault Vest
Ability: Poison Touch

Overview

Firstly, this team loses very fast to set up Pokemon such as Zygarde, especially with Aurora Veil or Dual Screens support. I tested this team, and my opponent went to Zygarde, Dragon Danced behind Reflect, and it I immediately knew the game was over. It's a very fast team, but any Pokemon that boosts speed—Choice Scarf or through a move—can generally outspeed and sweep the team due to its frail nature. Next, this team lacks Stealth Rock and hazard control. This means that less Pokemon will get chipped overtime, so walls such as Zapdos don't have to worry about constant Stealth Rock pressure. A lack of hazard removal means Spikes from stall or Sticky Web from Hyper Offense will be able to directly affect the game. Muk-Alola feels somewhat out of place on this "Hyper Aggressive" build. You should be trying to beat your threats offensively for this archetype, rather than building defensively by slapping on a Pokemon like Muk. Building that way will only further the team from its goal. Zeraora is a massive threat, as it outspeeds everything bar Unburden Hawlucha. Hawlucha fails to OHKO with High Jump Kick without a Swords Dance or some hefty chip, though.

Major Changes

Lead Landorus-Therian provides you with a reliable Stealth Rock user that fits more with the Hyper Offense archetype. This will often be your lead, as the set name implies, and you'll generally want to prioritize Stealth Rock before any other move. Even in bad type match-ups, it's fine to keep Landorus in to get up rocks.
Landorus-Therian @ Focus Sash
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Explosion
- Swords Dance

>

Lopunny, more often than not, is a bit of dead weight on HO. It benefits a lot more from teammates that you'd find on Bulky Offense or Balance, such as Clefable or Gliscor. Zygarde benefits from a later change of Dual Screens Tapu Koko. It finds many set-up opportunities and can either sweep on its own, or heavily dent opposing teams due to its high damage output and natural bulk. The Dragon Dance set with a Z-move is suggested here to break past Pokemon like Landorus. Thousand Arrows allows Zygarde to beat Pokemon like Zapdos, Skarmory, and Celesteela, which helps Hawlucha.
Zygarde @ Dragonium Z
Ability: Aura Break
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Thousand Arrows
- Outrage
- Extreme Speed
- Dragon Dance

Minor Changes

Dual Screens > LO 4 Attacks

This Tapu Koko set allows for its teammates to receive a temporary increase in bulk. This allows for increased set-up opportunities, and makes previously aggressive plays become more safe. Tapu Koko's only attacking move is U-turn, but this is to maximize its pivoting abilities. Taunt is necessary, too, to pressure opposing Taunt or Defog users. It can also hinder Pokemon who set up hazards. Dual Screens Tapu Koko is one of the most popular Pokemon on the OU ladder, especially for OLT.
Tapu Koko @ Light Clay
Ability: Electric Surge
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Taunt
- Reflect
- Light Screen
- U-turn

Roost > Poison Jab

Roost lets Hawlucha abuse the increase in bulk from Electric Seed and from Screens. It can Swords Dance and Roost on more passive Pokemon, which can help Hawlucha survive priority and general attacks.

Choice Scarf > 4 Attacks

Choice Scarf Greninja helps the team against opposing set-up sweepers. Gunk Shot is advised here to help against the Tapus that you said were tough to face. Rock Slide isn't necessary for a Volcarona match-up, as Hawlucha can check it solidly, and Zygarde can eat attacks from variants that aren't Z-Psychic. Greninja can afford to run Spikes here for additional hazard pressure; allowing 2HKOs to become possible in some cases. U-turn gives easy momentum and some minor chip damage, too, which allows it to pivot to the team's sweepers or even Tapu Koko. This is somewhat minor, but make your Greninja always Male and never Shiny. This ensures that there are no signs that this is Protean Greninja, and will keep the opponent on their toes.
(Greninja-Ash can never be Female and doesn't come as Shiny*)
Greninja (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Protean
EVs: 176 Atk / 80 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Gunk Shot
- U-turn
- Ice Beam
- Spikes

Fightinium Z > Focus Sash

Due to the removal of Greninja's Z-move, Kartana can afford to use it now. Z-Sacred Sword will help damage Scizor-Mega, Magearna, and Celesteela. This set also opts for Defog > Smart Strike to provide the team with hazard removal.

Anyways, that concludes this rate. I hope my changes were slightly helpful to your team. Let me know if you find any new threats or have any questions!

Definitely helpful advice ! Believe it or not A-Muk has saved me a lot of times but does feel out of place. I’ll try out the recommendations and let you know . I didn’t know zerora was out now , definitely surprised me in a couple matches.

the problem with this team is the double Z-Move which, albeit allows for more flexible plays, pretty much wastes an item on either zygarde or kartana. Personally, I think giving Zygarde a Mago Berry would be better and I'll explain why. What Mago Berry does is it gives your pokemon 1/2 of its HP when it drops to 1/4 of its HP. This gives Zygarde recovery and isn't usually expected. Helps with longevity and allows Zygarde to sweep more easily

For sure; other items like Weakness Policy, Lum Berry, or Iapapa work fine here, too.
