- Curse Snorlax is a reliable set-up sweeper that can check threatening attackers like Mimikyu and Dragapult while acting as a win condition on its own.
- Curse is Snorlax's primary gameplan, gradually boosting its Attack and Defense until it is both unstoppable and unbreakable.
- Double-Edge is selected as STAB for its immediate power, requiring less boosts to overwhelm checks. If the recoil damage is undesirable, Body Slam can be used as a more consistent STAB that spreads Paralysis to support Snorlax's teammates, but the power loss is noticeable.
- Darkest Lariat is chosen to hit Ghost-types super-effectively and to prevent enemies such as Corviknight from walling Snorlax with Defense boosts. Earthquake and Fire Punch are options that are stronger against common enemy Rock- and Steel-types; Earthquake is the best option against opposing Tyranitar and Excadrill and Fire Punch is for getting rid of Ferrothorn before it can abuse Snorlax's high HP stat with Leech Seed.
- Recycle in the last slot acts as an instant recovery move for Snorlax in combination with the Gluttony ability and a Figy Berry. Together, this combination makes Snorlax very difficult to 2HKO and offers it more chances to set up and sweep. Above 50% HP, Snorlax can still use Recycle to "store" its berry for a later turn as the opponent switches out, allowing Snorlax to comfortably gain even more Curse boosts.
- The EV spread provided maximizes Snorlax's physical bulk. The majority of threats in the tier are physical, so the spread maximizes the number of attackers that Snorlax can begin to set up on. If Snorlax is paired with a physical wall, a spread of 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD with a Calm nature can be used to set up on the Special attackers that physical walls attract.
- This set appreciates status and hazard support from allies; particularly Burns to ease Snorlax's set-up process. Ferrothorn makes a particularly helpful partner for providing Leech Seed support and providing Snorlax either free switches or recovery to aid its set-up. As Snorlax struggles with powerful Fighting-types like Conkeldurr, Fairy- and Ghost-type partners such as Corsola-Galar, Mimikyu, and Togekiss make valuable teammates to set up on or KO these opponents.
name: Belly Drum

move 4: Thunder Punch / Double-Edge

evs: 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpD
- Belly Drum Snorlax is an irresistably strong wallbreaker that sets up in the mid to late game and punches massive holes in the enemy team, paving the way for another sweeper.
- Belly Drum is the set-up move of choice, quadrupling Snorlax's Attack and making even non-STAB, uninvested attacks impossibly strong.
- Darkest Lariat allows Snorlax to cut through enemy Defense increases, such as Corviknight's Iron Defense and Ferrothorn's Curse.
- Superpower is used to cleanly OHKO Tyranitar after setting up, even if it Dynamaxes. Hammer Arm can be used if the Attack drop is undesirable, but Snorlax is still plenty strong at +5 and Superpower has no chance to miss.
- Thunder Punch is Snorlax's best option for getting through Dynamaxed Gyarados and Dynamaxed Togekiss, slicing through Gyarados' Wacan Berry and denying Togekiss the boost from Weakness Policy.
- The listed EV spread takes a laughable 40% from Choice Specs Dragapult's Draco Meteor and and Togekiss' Max Airstream and proceeds to set up.
- All EVs can be invested into bulk due to the immense boost that Belly Drum provides. Splitting EVs between Defense and Special Defense provides the most possible mixed bulk due to Snorlax's high HP stat. Alternative spreads focusing purely on setting up on physical or special attackers can be used as well.
- In return, +6 Snorlax does over 300% to 252 HP Dragapult and exactly KOs 252 HP / 252 Def Togekiss with Max Lightning.
- Belly Drum Snorlax is best supported by partners that can spread status and chip damage, particularly Burns, to ease its own set-up process. Corsola-Galar can spread Burn with Will-O-Wisp and switches in on the Fighting-types that Snorlax can't stay in on.
- In turn, this set supports fast sweepers with middling offenses such as Life Orb Dragapult, Inteleon, and Hawlucha by tearing massive chunks out of their would-be checks and paving the way for their sweeps.
- Play this set cautiously in the face of enemy Corsola-Galar, who can switch in and end your rampage with Will-O-Wisp. Allies that can comfortably absorb Burns, such as your own Corsola-Galar or Rotom-H, are good ways to deal with this opponent.
