Gallade is one of the strongest wallbreakers in RU due to its great STAB combination coupled with its access to Swords Dance. Gallade differentiates itself from other Fighting-types such as Toxicroak and Passimian by being able to beat traditional Poison-type checks such as Weezing and Vileplume with its Psychic-type STAB moves. However, it has an average Speed tier that is lower than Indeedee-M's and Silvally's, and it also has mediocre physical bulk, which makes it easy to revenge kill. Gallade faces competition from Bewear, a fellow Fighting-type that has good bulk and is able to hit common Fighting-resistant Pokemon hard with its Normal-type STAB moves. However, Gallade's advantage over Bewear is that it has a higher Speed tier. Close Combat is the strongest Fighting-type STAB option available, allowing it to net OHKOs on Rhydon and Steelix after a Swords Dance boost, but this makes Gallade susceptible to be revenge killed due to the Defense and Special Defense drops. Drain Punch is an alternative option that allows for sustainability, but it has less damage output when compared to Close Combat and is fairly weak without boosts as a result. Knock Off helps to cripple switch-ins such as Charizard and Mudsdale by removing their items. Psycho Cut is a possible option over Zen Headbutt to avoid Effect Spore and Rocky Helmet damage. However, it is weaker than Zen Headbutt and generally considered a niche option. Even though Life Orb's recoil makes it harder for Gallade to sustain itself throughout the battle, the extra power is necessary, as it allows Gallade to secure 2HKOs on Silvally-Fairy and defensive variants of Charizard. Lum Berry is a decent alternative that allows Gallade to set up on defensive Pokemon with status moves, such as Jellicent, Vaporeon, and Weezing.
Pokemon such as Rhydon and Steelix are able to support Gallade in wallbreaking by providing Stealth Rock support, while Gallade is able to Knock Off Heavy-Duty Boots from common users such as Charizard and Braviary, making them prone to Stealth Rock on switch-in. Copperajah is also able to provide Stealth Rock support and can switch in on Fairy-types such as Silvally-Fairy and Whimsicott, which are able to take an unboosted hit from Gallade and force it out. Gallade appreciates VoltTurn support as well, making Pokemon such as Whimsicott, Rotom-C, and Rillaboom great partners. Whimsicott is able to U-turn out of Steel- and Poison-types and bring in Gallade, as well as provide Tailwind support, which makes Gallade a menacing presence to deal with. In a similar vein, Rotom-C can Volt Switch out of its checks such as Duraludon, Drampa, and Vileplume, all of which are threatened by a healthy Gallade. Rillaboom tends to struggle muscling through Poison-types such as Vileplume and Weezing and thus appreciates being able to U-turn out into Gallade, which has no problem breaking through the aforementioned Pokemon. Fairy-types such as Aromatisse and Silvally-Fairy complement Gallade really well, as they are able to beat Sableye, which Gallade really struggles with. Additionally, the former is able to provide Wish support to help Gallade sustain throughout the game without having to worry about excessive Life Orb recoil, while the latter is able to U-turn out of common switch-ins such as Weezing, which Gallade is able to set up freely on. Lastly, Sticky Web users such as Vikavolt and Galvantula complement Gallade really well, solving the problem of its average Speed tier and hinders revenge kill attempts by slowing down the opposition.
