Introduction

Welcome to the eighth iteration of Ruins of Alph Premier League!

The format of ROAPL will be 8 teams with 10 slots each (2x Gens 1-5 OU). Every matchup will be BO1, with the exception of RBY, which will be BO3. After 7 weeks of qualifying, the top four teams will advance to a seeded semifinals round, followed by a finals round to determine this year's champions.

As a reminder:
  • Managers and assistant managers will not be allowed to play.
  • Battles not completed before the deadline will either count as an activity win or a dead game.
  • Battles ending with a tie will be ignored. (first-to-3 wins in RBY OU, first-to-1-win in other tiers).
  • Teams will receive 2 points for a win, 1 point for a tie, and 0 points for a loss.
  • Replays are required for all matches.

On a serious note, this is an activity post. Here is our full scheduling.

I gave four separate days with long ranges after he only gave one day, but he was able to do today, so it worked out for 5pm today. I will note that he said he may be an hour late coming back, so I waited that entire hour + the 30 minute period needed for activity afterwards in case anything came up.

I also got on as soon as I physically could after work to assure I was on a few before 5 since he said he wanted to do "as relatively early as possible". Honestly him saying this while proposing 5pm and also saying he may be an hour late is disrespectful of my time, but despite this I made sure to be on the entire range and the next half hour despite this solely because I said "as late as whenever you get back" when he indicated he may be up to an hour late. It's been an hour and a half and still nothing, which is beyond reason at this point.

I reached out to him and Excal reached out to CALLOUS, too.

I will admit I did say I could play on other days when initially scheduling, but:
  • Friday was a day I slashed with Thursday because I only wanted to clear much time on one of the two days, so I do not think I should have to clear more time, that is not even free to begin with, for this after waiting 90 minutes today
  • Saturday is my "closest" to free day and I will have family over for Passover, but I have a bunch of other games scheduled and SmogonTour to play, so I do not think I should have to clear more time, that is not even free to begin with, for this after waiting 90 minutes today
  • Sunday I am now traveling to see my grandmother and I have other games scheduled for when she will be with other parts of my family, so I do not think I should have to clear more time, that is not even free to begin with while I am out of the state, for this after waiting 90 minutes today
I hope my point that we should be more respectful of people's time when scheduling on Smogon has gotten through. Thanks for reading my novel.
