[overview]
**Draft order**: Late round 2 onwards

**Price range**: 15-16 points

**Overview**: Landorus-T might have lost the title as "Ground type of the generation" to Great Tusk; however, its set versatility, access to Intimidate, and ability to pivot with U-turn still make it a very useful pick. You will usually end up seeing a defensive set that takes advantage of Intimidate while still delivering strong hits with its gargantuan base 145 Attack or respectable 105 Special Attack, if you want to lure in other physical walls. With a respectable base 91 Speed, Landorus-T is also a strong Choice Scarf user, and its pool of utility moves can support other offensive sets. Draft this Pokemon if you want glue for your team.

Common Roles
========
**Defensive utility**: Its defensive typing, in conjunction with Intimidate, will make it a tough wall to break—even for neutrally attacking physical attackers—despite a lack of reliable healing. Its already high base Attack allows you to invest more EVs defensively, which allows it to stay on the field for a longer time.

**Offensive utility**: When EVs are invested in offensive stats as opposed to defensive stats, Landorus-T can still use moves like Stealth Rock, Taunt, and U-turn, serving as a good offensive utility pick while dishing out stronger hits.

**Revenge killer**: A base 91 Speed means that Landorus-T is outspeeding the entire unboosted metagame, barring Deoxys-S and Regieleki, when using a Choice Scarf and Jolly nature. This combined with a stellar Attack stat makes Landorus-T a very viable revenge killer, as it doesn't have the widest pool of coverage moves but still has enough to get the job done.

**Setup sweeper**: With access to Swords Dance and Bulk Up, Landorus-T can use either to clean up a weakened team. A special set with Nasty Plot or Calm Mind is also possible, with Intimidate, effectively weakening foes' physical attacks while Calm Mind can weaken foes' special attacks. However, by using Nasty Plot or Calm Mind, you lose the surprise factor that special sets like to have. Neither should be first choice for Landorus-T; however, a special set can still serve its purpose well.

Common Moves
========
**Primary STAB moves**: Earthquake, Earth Power, Scorching Sands

**Setup moves**: Swords Dance, Bulk Up, Calm Mind, Nasty Plot, Substitute

**Utility moves**: Stealth Rock, U-turn, Taunt, Brick Break

**Coverage**: Rock Tomb, Rock Slide, Stone Edge, Crunch, Hammer Arm, Outrage, Tera Blast, Grass Knot, Focus Blast, Sludge Bomb, Sludge Wave, Psychic

Niche Moves
========
**Gravity and Smack Down**: These are two useful moves that remove an opponent's Ground immunity but are used on slightly different occasions. Gravity works better against teams with multiple Ground immunities, while Smack Down is better against teams with just one. If you value having a Ground immunity on your side, be wary about using Gravity.

**Fly**: Fly + Power Herb is an option if the opposing team has a naturally decently bulky Grass-, Bug-, or Fighting-type Pokemon that would be hard to KO if not for catching it off guard with Fly, but sacrificing an item slot for something that can potentially be scouted is something that has to be considered as well.

Common Items
========
**Leftovers**: As Landorus-T is one of the rare Pokemon that is immune to Spikes and Toxic Spikes, but not especially vulnerable to Stealth Rock, if you expect to be pivoting in and out with Landorus-T a lot, Leftovers will likely be a better choice instead of Heavy-Duty Boots if you do not have another item in mind. It's useful on tank, offensive utility, and setup sweeper sets.

**Choice Scarf**: As previously mentioned, Landorus-T is a good revenge killer, so Choice Scarf is the best option for revenge killing sets.

**Rocky Helmet**: Rocky Helmet is a fantastic option for getting some chip damage off on the -1 attacks that will be coming after Intimidate.

**Resistance Berry**: Not necessarily useful against Ice-types, Yache Berry is a good item for the Ice-type coverage moves that will assuredly be coming Landorus-T's way. It won't allow Landorus-T to live long, as the moves will still hit as hard as a 2x super effective move, but it might give Landorus-T the turn required to gain an advantage. With Water-type being much less common than Ice-type coverage moves, the other resistance Berry Landorus-T can effectively use is a Passho Berry, which is still good for surprising offensive Water-type Pokemon that threaten to OHKO Landorus-T.

Niche Items
========
**Sitrus Berry**: It's good for recovering some health and is better for high-tempo games where Leftovers will not have time to get the value that a Sitrus Berry would.

**Heavy-Duty Boots** If Landorus-T's use starts and ends with using Stealth Rock and U-turn in a matchup, Heavy-Duty Boots is a viable option, allowing it to repeatedly switch in without having to worry about Stealth Rock damage. Alternatively, if you plan on using a Tera type like Flying and Terastallizing immediately, Heavy-Duty Boots will negate that extra damage Landorus-T takes when shedding the Ground-type.

**Choice Band**: While being locked into Earthquake is rarely ideal, even most Ground resistances will not want to take an Earthquake from a Choice Band Landorus-T. Landorus-T's coverage will generally be able to assist in covering the Pokemon Earthquake does not hit, but Landorus-T's physical movepool is limited, so this set will often be doling out more a powerful U-turn.

**Assault Vest**: Landorus-T can use an Assault Vest to switch more easily into special attackers while taking advantage of Intimidate against physical attackers. Assault Vest is particularly vulnerable to chip damage with no means of recovery, but it might make the difference against teams that have a lot of special attackers.

**Power Herb**: It should only be used with a Fly set. An important thing to remember is that since this item is a one-time use, Fly will still be usable, but it will be much easier to take advantage of, so use it wisely.

Tera
========
Landorus-T is a very obvious choice for a Tera Captain, finally gaining access to a reliable Flying-type coverage move for offensive sets or shedding its Ice weakness on defensive sets. The Tera type a defensive set will probably choose, Tera Water, resists both of Landorus-T's weaknesses, but it is also good because of its general good defensive typing, which Landorus-T enjoys keeping. Tera Ghost and Fairy are both decent defensive options as well, and Landorus-T can utilize both of those types well. Tera Blast Flying + Earthquake makes for a very difficult Pokemon to switch into, and even outside of Tera Flying, Landorus-T can gain much needed coverage with whichever Tera type + Tera Blast you decide to go. Landorus-T does like to keep its Spikes, Toxic Spikes, and Ground and Electric immunities, however, so be certain to time its Tera wisely.

Draft Strategy
========
Landorus-T checks off so many of the parameters that one looks for in a draft team that you can pretty much draft anything alongside it. Having an immunity to Ground and Electric, two very common coverage types, Landorus-T appreciates being able to switch in on those types of moves and U-turn out of unfavorable matchups into something that can handle its weak points.

**Bulky Water-type**: Bulky Water-types are already fantastic in Draft, so the two covering each other's weaknesses is just the cherry on top. Pick one up and use them as pivots into your more offensive Pokemon.

**Wincons**: Unfortunately, without reliable speed control, Landorus-T will not realistically be winning any games by itself. Be sure to draft a Pokemon like Sneasler or Greninja that appreciates being pivoted into while Landorus-T softens up the team for those Pokemon.

**Special attackers**: Landorus-T loves to lure in physical walls only to pivot out into a strong special attacker that can begin punching holes into teams. In addition to Chi-Yu and Greninja, a fantastic teammate would be Gholdengo, as it appreciates a Ground immunity, while Landorus-T appreciates the Ice resistance and entry hazard removal blocking that Gholdengo provides.

**Spikes/Toxic Spikes setters**: Landorus-T will almost always be your Stealth Rock user due to its relatively limited movepool, and with Intimidate and U-turn, it will cause a lot of pivoting on both sides of the field. You can punish all of that pivoting with hazard users like Overqwil, Toxapex, and Tentacruel, which all appreciate the Ground immunity Landorus-T gives your team.

**Speed control/priority move users**: Landorus-T struggles with picking off faster Pokemon if it is not holding a Choice Scarf, so be sure to draft a Pokemon like Scizor or Azumarill that can accomplish this with their powerful priority moves.

Checks and Counters
========
**Water-types**: Most bulky Water-types can shrug off a defensive Landorus-T's Earthquake while threatening it out with a STAB move, while offensive Water-types like Greninja and Manaphy are able to outspeed and OHKO with their STAB moves.

**Ice-types or Ice-type moves**: Landorus-T will often fall victim to getting chunked by Ice-type coverage, as Pokemon such as Great Tusk, Clefable, and Iron Treads, which would otherwise be relatively safe switch-ins for Landorus-T, can include it in their movesets.

**Ground immunities**: Sometimes taking two turns to hit the foe with Gravity + Earthquake is not a practical solution to dealing with Ground immunities, and with no Flying-type coverage, Landorus-T will rely on the painfully inaccurate Rock-type coverage moves Landorus-T has to hit Ground immunities. For instance, Pokemon like Gliscor and Galarian Zapdos would appreciate the free turn you give them by setting Gravity up and then are still able to easily tank Earthquake.

**Strong special attackers**: Strong special attackers, such as Enamorus or Darkrai, can take advantage of Landorus-T's middling special bulk to force it out, even with substantial investment in HP and Special Defense.

[overview]

**Draft Order**: Rounds 2-3

**Price Range**: 15-16 points

**Overview**
Landorus-Therian might have lost the title as premiere Ground type to Great Tusk, but its set versatility, access to Intimidate, and ability to pivot in U-Turn still make it a very useful pick. You will usually end up seeing a defensive set that takes advantage of Intimidate while still delivering strong hits with its gargantuan base 145 Attack or respectable 105 Special Attack if you want to lure in other physical walls. Stealth Rock, U-Turn, and Taunt provide utility while a base 91 Speed make it faster than your opponent's average tank will be, while also having enough Speed to justify Scarf or other offensive sets. Draft this Pokemon if you want a glue to your team, just be certain to draft a couple of Ice and Water resistances that appreciate being pivoted into.
The information in this overview is good, but it’s worded awkwardly and difficult to read. I think this paragraph could use a rewrite just in terms of grammar/sentence structure.

[As is the case with every generation Lando-T is seen in, the quad weakness to Ice will cause opponents to want to include Ice-type coverage on Pokemon that you might want to switch Lando-T into, so if you bring it in early game don't be afraid to hard switch out as opposed to clicking U-Turn to scout for the aforementioned coverage moves.]
This bit of info isn’t necessary, as it’s just the nature of Draft. People run uncommon coverage moves for specific mons, so we could say this about everything, not just Lando-T.
Common Roles
========
**Tank**: In a format dominated by physical attacking Ground-types, having a Ground-type that is immune to Ground-type attacks will always be useful. Although Lando-T may not look like the tankiest Pokemon just looking at its stats and lack of reliable healing, its defensive typing in conjunction with Intimidate will make it a tough wall to break even for neutrally attacking physical attackers.
The first part of this paragraph isn't really an accurate assessment of the Gen 9 Draft meta, but the rest of the paragraph should also be reworked. I would change this role name to “Defensive utility.” Just focus on how Lando-T’s decent defenses combine with Intimidate and its great defensive typing to become a very solid wall while still not being passive due to its very high base Attack, and it contributes to the team through Stealth Rock and U-turn.

**Offensive utility**: Using moves like Stealth Rock, Taunt, and U-Turn, Lando-T can also serve as a good offensive utility pick. Its already high base Attack allows you to invest in other stats that allow it to stay on the field for a longer time.
Make this section the opposite of “Defensive utility” where you can instead take an opposite approach: do the same thing as the defensive utility set, but invest in Lando-T’s offense and coast off its defensive typing/Intimidate to still have passable bulk.

**Revenge killer**: A base 91 Speed means that you are outspeeding the entire tier barring Deoxys-Speed and Regieleki, assuming everything is neutral speed, with a Choice Scarf and Jolly nature. This combined with a stellar Attack stat makes Lando-T a very viable revenge killer, not having the widest pool of coverage but still having enough to get the job done.

**Setup sweeper**: Although Lando-T lost its most potent setup sweeping move in Rock Polish, it still has Swords Dance and Bulk Up it can use to clean up a weakened team. Should not be a set that is defaulted to, however it still serves its purpose.
Substitute should be mentioned, and I don’t think Rock Polish should be mentioned at all as it may cause confusion.

Common Moves
========
**Primary STAB moves**: Earthquake, Earth Power Add Scorching Sands

**Setup moves**: Swords Dance, Bulk Up, Calm Mind, Nasty Plot Add Substitute

**Utility moves**: Stealth Rock, U-Turn, Taunt, Brick Break

**Coverage**: Rock Tomb, Rock Slide, Stone Edge, Crunch, Hammer Arm, Outrage Add Focus Blast, Grass Knot, Psychic, Sludge Bomb, Sludge Wave

Niche Moves
========
**Gravity and Smack Down**: Two useful moves that serve the same purpose for different occasions. Gravity is better as a field effect that keeps Pokemon that are weak to Ground without either Levitate or a Flying-type from being a switch in, while Smack Down is better for Pokemon that don't mind sitting against Lando-T regardless of losing their Ground immunity. Something to note is that Smack Down would be the better pick if keeping a Ground immunity is important for your side of the field.
The analysis of when to use Gravity vs Smack Down doesn’t make much sense. Gravity is much better when fighting multiple Ground immunities, while Smack Down is usually only used when fighting a single Ground immunity. I'm not sure if Smack Down deserves a mention at all honestly.

**Substitute**: Useful for both scouting and avoiding status effects, Lando-T is an especially good Substitute user since Intimidate often forces Pokemon out.
Not that niche. Should be moved to common setup moves

**Special attacks**: Even on sets with only other physical attacks, a surprise special attack with Lando-T's expansive special pool can often be the stronger choice against physical walls that might be switching into Lando-T.
Delete this and just list special attacks in its common moves. Lando-T will go mixed fairly often.

**Rest**: Rest + Chesto Berry is a viable choice in matchups where you expect Lando-T to need to do a lot of tanking attacks or status absorption where Leftovers or Sitrus Berry would not be enough recovery.
I don’t think Rest is worth mentioning since every Pokemon learns it.

**Fly**: Fly + Power Herb is an option if the opposing team has a Pokemon that would be hard to kill if not for catching it off guard with Fly, but sacrificing an item slot for something that can potentially be scouted is something that has to be prepared for well.
Rewrite this description to talk about the benefits of using Fly and why you would run it (an option to snipe unexpecting Grass/Bug types, which resist Ground).

Common Items
========
**Leftovers**: Being one of the rare Pokemon that is immune to Spikes/Toxic Spikes but not especially vulnerable to Stealth Rock means that even if you expect to be pivoting in and out of Lando-T a lot, Leftovers over Heavy-Duty Boots will likely be the item of choice if you do not have another item in mind. Useful on tank, offensive utility, or setup sweeper sets.

**Choice Scarf**: As previously mentioned, Lando-T is a good revenge killer and so Choice Scarf is the best option for revenge killing sets.

**Rocky Helmet**: If Leftovers don't tickle your fancy on tank sets, Rocky Helmet is a fantastic option for getting some chip damage off on the -1 Attack attacks that will be coming in after Intimidate.
Helmet is usually preferred over Leftovers for the chip damage. It shouldn’t be presented as an option only if Leftovers doesn't “tickle your fancy” (should rephrase this too)

**Yache Berry**: Not necessarily useful against Ice-types, Yache Berry is a good item for the random Ice coverage moves that will assuredly be coming your way. It won't allow you to live long, as it will still hit as hard as a 2x super effective move, but it might give you the turn required to gain an advantage.
Combine Yache/Passho into “Resistance Berry” and change the description as well. It should be included that Resist Berries are especially nice on Lando-T cause of how common Water/Ice coverage is.

Niche Items
========
**Sitrus Berry**: A quick health pack that is better for high tempo games where Leftovers will not have time to get the value that a Sitrus Berry would.

**Passho Berry**: With Water-type coverage moves being much less common than Ice-type coverage moves, the other resist Berry Lando-T can effectively use is still good for surprising Pokemon like Gyarados or Volcanion and striking back with a super effective Stone Edge or Earthquake, respectively.
See above comment in the Yache berry section

**Choice Band**: While being locked into Earthquake is rarely ideal, even most Ground resists will not want to take an Earthquake from a banded Lando-T.
This could be moved to Common Items, although I’m not 100% certain.

**Assault Vest**: An offensive set can bluff a specially defensive set with the amount of damage an offensive Assault Vest Lando-T takes from special attacks. Try saying that 3 times fast.
This isn’t a very helpful analysis of why AV might be used. Needs to be rewritten to talk about the practical benefits of AV (AV + Intimidate gives Lando solid bulk all around, for example)

**Power Herb**: To only be used with a Fly set.
Explicitly say that Power Herb removes Fly’s charge turn, giving Lando-T a one-time decent Flying STAB option that isn’t reliant on Tera.

Tera
========
Lando-T may seem like an obvious choice for a Tera captain, finally gaining access to a reliable Flying-type coverage move for offensive sets or shedding its Ice-type weakness on defensive sets, but with what it loses from Tera, you should aim for something that can benefit from Tera more. Its defensive typing is already very good, having an immunity to 2 very common types in Electric and Ground as well as only 2 weaknesses and only 3 resistances. This means Lando-T will most likely be taking neutral hits most of the time. The tera type a defensive set will probably choose, Water, does resist both of Lando-T's weaknesses but it is also good because of its general neutrality, which Lando-T does not need. Flying coverage from STAB Tera Blast is great for hitting Grass and Bug-types, but those two types are already so poor both offensively and defensively that you will likely naturally have something else to deal with both of them. Tera captain Lando-T is not bad by any means, but there are better options.
This paragraph is underselling Tera Lando-T a lot. There’s also a lot of fluff in this paragraph that should be cut, since it’s a little too long.
Tera Flying Tera Blast, Intimidate + defensive typing of choice, and Tera Ground Earthquakes are all valid ways of using Tera Lando-T, and it shouldn’t be discouraged at every opportunity in this description. While it’s true that it can be awkward to Tera an important glue mon sometimes (losing out on Ground/Electric immunities), Lando-T’s not a bad pick at all.

Draft Strategy
========
Lando-T checks off so many of the parameters that one looks for in a draft team that you can pretty much draft anything alongside it. Its unshared weakness to types Flying-types are normally weak to, being Rock and Electric, mean that you do not have to be afraid of drafting another Flying-type if you notice a glaring weakness to Ground.
Pretty much any team with Lando-T won’t have a glaring weakness to Ground by virtue of having Lando-T on the team. You don’t need to focus on the Flying weaknesses here, and you should focus on how Lando-T is a glue mon that checks off a lot of important utility for draft teams (rocks + u-turn, electric/ground immunities), so it can fit on many drafts.

**Bulky Water-type**: Bulky Water-types are already fantastic and arguably a necessity in draft, so the two covering each other's weaknesses is just the cherry on top. Pick one up and use Flip Turn and U-Turn to freely pivot into your wallbreakers.

**Win conditions**: Unfortunately without Rock Polish Lando-T will not realistically be winning any games by itself. Be sure to draft a Pokemon like Chi-Yu, Sneasler, Enamorus-Incarnate, or Greninja that has no problem doing heavy lifting while Lando-T softens up the team for those Pokemon.
Chi-Yu's not a great wincon either so just remove it from the examples

**Special attackers**: Lando-T loves to lure in physical walls only to pivot out into a strong special attacker to begin punching holes into teams. In addition to the already mentioned Chi-Yu, Enamorus-I, and Greninja, a fantastic teammate would be Gholdengo who appreciates a Ground immunity while Lando-T appreciates the Ice resistance and hazard removal blocking Gholdengo provides.

Checks and Counters
========
**Water-types**: Most bulky Water-types can shrug off Lando-T's Earthquake while threatening it out with a STAB move, while offensive Water-types like Greninja and Manaphy are able to outspeed and OHKO with their STAB moves.
I wouldn’t say “shrug off,” since most bulky waters will barely avoid a 2HKO from offensive Lando-T, if at all. "Take" seems more appropriate

**Ice-type coverage or Ice-types**: While Ice-types outside of Kyurem, Baxcalibur, Weavile, and the oft-banned Iron Bundle and Chien-Pao often struggle to find a place on draft teams, fitting an Ice-type move to deal with Lando-T never seems to be an issue. Be especially wary of Pokemon such as Scream Tail and Blissey who find it hard to find damage outside of 4x super effective moves.
No need to bring up Chien-Pao (banned from Smogon), and Iron Bundle isn’t banned, so don’t include the “oft-banned part.”
There’s also no need to talk about Ice-types’ struggles. There’s a decent amount of relevant top tier Ice-types, and Ice-type coverage is fairly common as you already mentioned. Keep the focus on Lando-T.

**Ground-type immunities**: Sometimes taking two turns to hit your opponent with Gravity + Earthquake is not a practical solution to dealing with Ground immunities, and with no Flying-type coverage you will rely on the painfully inaccurate Rock-type coverage moves Lando-T has to hit Ground immunities.

Whoops sorry didn't see those! Addressed most if not all of your points because you made a lot of good ones, thanks.
Pinged you on Discord earlier with this cause I thought it might be more convenient than using the forums, but posting here too in case you missed it:

The edits you've implemented so far are improving the analysis, but a few parts of my QC still weren't addressed, like the Assault Vest and Gravity/Smack Down sections. I'm not sure if this was done intentionally out of disagreement, or if they were accidentally skipped. There were also a couple things left in the analysis that should be removed entirely (unnecessary mention of Great Tusk in the overview paragraph + Substitute in niche moves category). Let me know when you get a chance.

Hey sorry, I didn't give QC quite yet. I think the parts of my QC left unaddressed are important to fix, and there's some issues with the new edits as well. I'll list out the specific concerns I have below. Once you implement them, tag me again so I can look them over, and then I can give QC.

-The Gravity/Smack Down section doesn't make much sense or properly explain the different use cases between them. It needs to highlight how Gravity is better against teams with multiple Ground immunities, and is generally preferred due to it being a field effect so it doesn't care about the opponent switching out. Smack Down is used when there's only one Ground immunity on the opponent's team and Lando-T wants to keep its Ground immunity. You mention some of this, but not all, and include a lot of unnecessary/confusing information otherwise.

-Substitute doesn't need to be highlighted in niche moves. It's used enough on Lando-T to just be listed in the common moves, and Lando-T doesn't have any unique interactions with Substitute to make it worth highlighting.

-Scorching Sands should just be added to common STAB moves. Defensive sets run it decently often. Sandsear Storm could stay in niche moves if you want for its high power/use under Rain.

-Assault Vest reworked description is better, but it's still unclear and inconsistent with earlier parts of the analysis. It was stated earlier that Lando-T doesn't mind entry hazards, so it doesn't make sense to talk about hazards wearing down Assault Vest sets. This needs to be rewritten.

-The Tera section was left mostly unchanged, and is still confusing. Lando-T isn't a bad Tera captain, and I feel the analysis here downplays it too much. Just focus on the fact that Lando-T can be a solid Tera captain, being able to use Tera offensively and defensively, and then talk about the types it benefits from. The only caveat I feel is worth mentioning is that Lando-T's base typing is already very good and provides important immunities (Electric/Ground) to a draft, so teams should be mindful of losing out on these immunities when choosing to Tera Lando-T in battle.

-I see you added a Heavy-Duty Boots section in niche items, which I think is fine, but needs an entirely different description. Lando-T doesn't care about hazards, like you already said. I only really see Boots being worth running if you intend to Tera Lando-T into a different type that cares more about hazards. I think this is a valid use case, but the current description for Boots doesn't mention Tera at all.

-Some miscellaneous text I said should be cut in my QC were left in, like "arguably a necessity" when referring to bulky Waters in draft, which is just an inaccurate description that should be deleted.

[overview]

**Draft Order**: Rounds 2-3

**Price Range**: 15-16 points

**Overview**
Landorus-Therian might have lost the title as "Ground type of the generation" to Great Tusk, however its set versatility, access to Intimidate, and ability to pivot in U-Turn still make it a very useful pick. You will usually end up seeing a defensive set that takes advantage of Intimidate while still delivering strong hits with its gargantuan base 145 Attack or respectable 105 Special Attack, if you want to lure in other physical walls. Stealth Rock, U-Turn, and Taunt provide utility while a base 91 Speed makes it faster than your opponent's average tank will be, while also having enough Speed to justify Scarf or other offensive sets. Draft this Pokemon if you want glue for your team.

Common Roles
========
**Defensive utility**: Although Lando-T may not look like the tankiest Pokemon just looking at its stats and lack of reliable healing, its defensive typing in conjunction with Intimidate will make it a tough wall to break even for neutrally attacking physical attackers. Its already high base Attack allows you to invest in more defensive stats that allow it to stay on the field for a longer time.

**Offensive utility**: Investing in offensive stats as opposed to defensive stats, Lando-T can still use moves like Stealth Rock, Taunt, and U-Turn, serving as a good offensive utility pick while dishing out stronger hits.

**Setup sweeper**: With access to Swords Dance and Bulk Up Lando-T can use to clean up a weakened team. A special set with Nasty Plot or Calm Mind set is also possible, with Intimidate used to take hits from both the physical and special side with Calm Mind, however by using Nasty Plot or Calm Mind you lose the surprise factor that special sets like to have. Neither should be a set that is defaulted to, however it can still serve its purpose well.

Common Moves
========
**Primary STAB moves**: Earthquake, Earth Power, Scorching Sands

**Setup moves**: Swords Dance, Bulk Up, Calm Mind, Nasty Plot, Substitute

**Utility moves**: Stealth Rock, U-Turn, Taunt, Brick Break

**Coverage**: Rock Tomb, Rock Slide, Stone Edge, Crunch, Hammer Arm, Outrage, Grass Knot, Focus Blast, Sludge Bomb, Sludge Wave, Psychic

Niche Moves
========
**Gravity and Smack Down**: Two useful moves that remove an opponent's Ground-type immunity but are used in slightly different occasions. Gravity is a 5-turn field effect that works better against teams with multiple Ground-type immunities while Smack Down is better against teams with just one. Another note is that Gravity affects both sides of the field so if you value having a Ground-type immunity on your side be wary about using Gravity.

**Sandsear Storm**: Sandsear Storm has 80% accuracy outside of rain with 100% in rain, so if you can find a way to fit a Lando-T in a slot against rain or don't mind the miss chance outside of rain it hits very hard as well, with a 20% chance to burn that never hurts.

**Fly**: Fly + Power Herb is an option if the opposing team has a naturally decently bulky Grass, Bug, or Fighting Pokemon such as Serperior, Iron Valiant, or Urshifu that would be hard to kill if not for catching it off guard with Fly, but sacrificing an item slot for something that can potentially be scouted is something that has to be prepared for well.

Common Items
========

**Rocky Helmet**: Rocky Helmet is a fantastic option for getting some chip damage off on the -1 Attack attacks that will be coming in after Intimidate.

**Resist Berries**: Not necessarily useful against Ice-types, Yache Berry is a good item for the random Ice coverage moves that will assuredly be coming your way. It won't allow you to live long, as it will still hit as hard as a 2x super effective move, but it might give you the turn required to gain an advantage. With Water-type coverage moves being much less common than Ice-type coverage moves, the other resist Berry Lando-T can effectively use is still good for surprising Pokemon like Gyarados or Volcanion and striking back with a super effective Stone Edge or Earthquake, respectively.

Niche Items
========
**Sitrus Berry**: A quick health pack that is better for high tempo games where Leftovers will not have time to get the value that a Sitrus Berry would. An especially good choice when Lando-T has one Pokemon to switch into and after that Pokemon faints or falls below a certain health threshold it is not afraid to be used as a strategic sacrifice.

**Heavy-Duty Boots** If Lando-T's use starts and ends with clicking Stealth Rock and U-Turn in a matchup, Heavy-Duty Boots is a viable option for allowing it to repeatedly switch in without having to worry about Stealth Rock damage. Alternatively, if you plan on using a Tera type like Flying and Terastallizing immediately, Heavy-Duty Boots will negate that extra damage you take when shedding the Ground-type.

**Choice Band**: While being locked into Earthquake is rarely ideal, even most Ground resists will not want to take an Earthquake from a banded Lando-T. Outrage and Rock-type coverage will generally be able to assist in covering the Pokemon Earthquake does not hit, but Lando-T's physical pool is limited so this set will often be doling out more powerful U-Turns.

**Assault Vest**: Lando-T can run an Assault Vest to switch easier into special attackers while taking advantage of Intimidate on the physical side. Assault Vest is particularly vulnerable to chip damage with no way to recover it back, but it might make the difference against teams that have a lot of special attacking threats.

**Power Herb**: To only be used with a Fly set. An important thing to remember is that since this item is a 1-time use Fly will still be usable but it will be much more easy to take advantage of, so use it wisely.

Tera
========
Lando-T is a very obvious choice for a Tera captain, finally gaining access to a reliable Flying-type coverage move for offensive sets or shedding its Ice-type weakness on defensive sets. The tera type a defensive set will probably choose, Water, resists both of Lando-T's weaknesses but it is also good because of its general neutrality, which Lando-T enjoys keeping. Flying Tera Blast + Earthquake makes for a very difficult Pokemon to switch into, and even outside of Flying Tera Lando-T can gain much needed coverage with whichever Tera-type + Tera Blast you decide to go. Lando-T does like to keep its Ground and Electric-type immunities, however, so be certain to time your Tera wisely.

Draft Strategy
========
Lando-T checks off so many of the parameters that one looks for in a draft team that you can pretty much draft anything alongside it. Having an immunity to Ground and Electric, two very common coverage types, Lando-T appreciates being able to negate one of those moves and U-Turn out of unfavorable matchups into something that can handle its weak points.

**Bulky Water-type**: Bulky Water-types are already fantastic in draft, so the two covering each other's weaknesses is just the cherry on top. Pick one up and use them as pivots into your more offensive Pokemon.

**Win conditions**: Unfortunately without Rock Polish Lando-T will not realistically be winning any games by itself. Be sure to draft a Pokemon like Sneasler or Greninja that has no problem doing heavy lifting while Lando-T softens up the team for those Pokemon.

**Special attackers**: Lando-T loves to lure in physical walls only to pivot out into a strong special attacker to begin punching holes into teams. In addition to the already mentioned Chi-Yu, Sneasler, and Greninja, a fantastic teammate would be Gholdengo who appreciates a Ground immunity while Lando-T appreciates the Ice resistance and hazard removal blocking Gholdengo provides.

**Spikes/Toxic Spikes setters**: Lando-T will almost always be your Stealth Rock user due to its relatively limited movepool, and with Intimidate and U-Turn it will cause a lot of pivoting on both sides of the field. Punishing all of that pivoting with hazard users like Overqwil, Toxapex, and Tentacruel who all appreciate the Ground immunity Lando-T give your team.

Checks and Counters
========
**Water-types**: Most bulky Water-types can shrug off a defensive Lando-T's Earthquake while threatening it out with a STAB move, while offensive Water-types like Greninja and Manaphy are able to outspeed and OHKO with their STAB moves.

**Ice-type coverage or Ice-types**: Lando-T will often fall victim to getting chunked by Ice-type coverage, especially Ice Beam, as Pokemon such as Tyranitar, Blissey, and Scream Tail which would otherwise be relatively safe switch ins for Lando-T.

For instance, Pokemon like Gliscor and Zapdos-Galar would appreciate the free turn you give them setting Gravity up and then are able to easily tank Earthquake.

**Strong special attackers**: Strong special attackers such as Enamorus-Incarnate or Darkrai can take advantage of Lando-T's middling special bulk to force it out, even with substantial investment in HP and Special Defense.

-For Choice Band under Niche Items I would just not mention Outrage and instead just mention Rock coverage + U-Turn as the main alternatives w/ the 4th slot being extra coverage/utility.
-For the Ice Type Coverage section under Checks & Counters I would replace the examples of Blissey/Scream Tail w/ more prevalent threats like Great Tusk/Iron Treads as Blissey is basically irrelevant in SV and Lando is more likely to be coming in on Tusk/Treads over a mon like Scream Tail.

**Draft Order**: Rounds 2-3 Late round 2 onwards

**Price Range**: 15-16 points

**Overview**
Landorus-Therian might have lost the title as "Ground type of the generation" to Great Tusk, however its set versatility, access to Intimidate, and ability to pivot in U-Turn still make it a very useful pick. You will usually end up seeing a defensive set that takes advantage of Intimidate while still delivering strong hits with its gargantuan base 145 Attack or respectable 105 Special Attack, if you want to lure in other physical walls. Stealth Rock, U-Turn, and Taunt provide utility while a base 91 Speed makes it faster than your opponent's average tank will be, while also having enough Speed to justify Scarf or other offensive sets. don't mention the moves here, I'd just mention that,"Landorus-T has a lot of utility options, while also having a respectable 91 Speed which..." Draft this Pokemon if you want glue for your team.

Common Roles
========
**Defensive utility**: Although Lando-T may not look like the tankiest Pokemon just looking at its stats and lack of reliable healing, its defensive typing in conjunction with Intimidate will make it a tough wall to break even for neutrally attacking physical attackers. Change up the word order here, mention that thanks to its typing + intimidate, its able to be a tough wall, even despite it's lack of reliable recovery Its already high base Attack allows you to invest in more defensive stats that allow it to stay on the field for a longer time.

**Offensive utility**: Investing in offensive stats as opposed to defensive stats, Lando-T can still use moves like Stealth Rock, Taunt, and U-Turn, serving as a good offensive utility pick while dishing out stronger hits.

========
**Primary STAB moves**: Earthquake, Earth Power, Scorching Sands

**Setup moves**: Swords Dance, Bulk Up, Calm Mind, Nasty Plot, Substitute

**Utility moves**: Stealth Rock, U-Turn, Taunt, Brick Break

**Coverage**: Rock Tomb, Rock Slide, Stone Edge, Crunch, Hammer Arm, Outrage, Grass Knot, Focus Blast, Sludge Bomb, Sludge Wave, Psychic add tera blast

Niche Moves
========
**Gravity and Smack Down**: Two useful moves that remove an opponent's Ground-type immunity but are used in slightly different occasions. Gravity is a 5-turn field effect that works better against teams with multiple Ground-type immunities while Smack Down is better against teams with just one. Another note is that Gravity affects both sides of the field so if you value having a Ground-type immunity on your side be wary about using Gravity. this is too dexy, we dont cover what moves do, only how they affect the game state - no need to explain what moves do

**Sandsear Storm**: Sandsear Storm has 80% accuracy outside of rain with 100% in rain, so if you can find a way to fit a Lando-T in a slot against rain or don't mind the miss chance outside of rain it hits very hard as well, with a 20% chance to burn that never hurts. the purpose of this would be to have a stronger alternative to scorching sands in matchups where the burn chance is still valuable

**Fly**: Fly + Power Herb is an option if the opposing team has a naturally decently bulky Grass, Bug, or Fighting Pokemon such as Serperior, Iron Valiant, or Urshifu that would be hard to kill if not for catching it off guard with Fly, but sacrificing an item slot for something that can potentially be scouted is something that has to be prepared for well. dont give examples of specific pokemon here, the typings are enough

add

Common Items
========

With Water-type coverage moves being much less common than Ice-type coverage moves, the other resist Berry Lando-T can effectively use is still good for surprising Pokemon like Gyarados or Volcanion and striking back with a super effective Stone Edge or Earthquake, respectively. offensive Water-type Pokemon that otherwise threaten to OHKO Landorus-T. its resistance berries, has to be consistent across analyses

Niche Items
========
**Sitrus Berry**: A quick health pack that is better for high tempo games where Leftovers will not have time to get the value that a Sitrus Berry would. An especially good choice when Lando-T has one Pokemon to switch into and after that Pokemon faints or falls below a certain health threshold it is not afraid to be used as a strategic sacrifice. qc couldn't understand what this meant but the first sentence is enough as is

Outrage and Rock-type Landorus-T's coverage will generally be able to assist in covering the Pokemon Earthquake does not hit, but Lando-T's physical pool is limited so this set will often be doling out more powerful U-Turns.

The tera type a defensive set will probably choose, Water, resists both of Lando-T's weaknesses but it is also good because of its general neutrality, which Lando-T enjoys keeping. change this up to not reflect one specifc type, mention that any non-flying tera type makes it vulnerable to hazards. would also list other types heree, fairy and ghost come to mind but whatever u think works is also fine Flying Tera Blast + Earthquake makes for a very difficult Pokemon to switch into, and even outside of Flying Tera Lando-T can gain much needed coverage with whichever Tera-type + Tera Blast you decide to go. Lando-T does like to keep its Ground and Electric-type immunities, however, so be certain to time your Tera wisely.

**Special attackers**: Lando-T loves to lure in physical walls only to pivot out into a strong special attacker to begin punching holes into teams. In addition to the already mentioned Chi-Yu, Sneasler, and Greninja, a fantastic teammate would be Gholdengo who appreciates a Ground immunity while Lando-T appreciates the Ice resistance and hazard removal blocking Gholdengo provides. why is sneasler listed under special attackers?

mention speed control/priority, its alluded to in wincons but theyre not one and the same, can use different examples

With Water-type coverage moves being much less common than Ice-type coverage moves, the other resistance Berry Landorus-T can effectively use is a Passho Berry, which is still good for surprising offensive Water-type Pokemon that threaten to OHKO Landorus-T.

Niche Items
========
**Sitrus Berry**: A quick health pack that It's good for recovering some health and is better for high-tempo (ah) games where Leftovers will not have time to get the value that a Sitrus Berry would.

**Heavy-Duty Boots** If Landorus-T's use starts and ends with clicking using Stealth Rock and U-Turn U-turn in a matchup, Heavy-Duty Boots is a viable option, (ac) for allowing it to repeatedly switch in without having to worry about Stealth Rock damage. Landorus-T's coverage will generally be able to assist in covering the Pokemon Earthquake does not hit, but Landorus-T's physical movepool is limited, (ac) so this set will often be doling out more a powerful U-Turns U-turn.

**Assault Vest**: Landorus-T can run use an Assault Vest to switch easier more easily into special attackers while taking advantage of Intimidate on the physical side against physical attackers. Assault Vest is particularly vulnerable to chip damage with no way to recover it back means of recovery, but it might make the difference against teams that have a lot of special attacking threats attackers.

**Power Herb**: To only It should only be used with a Fly set. An important thing to remember is that since this item is a 1-time one-time use, (ac) Fly will still be usable, (ac) but it will be much more easy easier to take advantage of, so use it wisely.

Tera
========
Landorus-T is a very obvious choice for a Tera Captain, finally gaining access to a reliable Flying-type coverage move for offensive sets or shedding its Ice-type weakness on defensive sets. The Tera type a defensive set will probably choose, Tera Water, resists both of Landorus-T's weaknesses, (ac) but it is also good because of its general neutrality general neutrality to what? If you just mean it's a decent defensive typing, change this to "but it is also a generally good defensive typing", which Landorus-T enjoys keeping if the previous clause is changed to what i included in the comment, you can leave this as is; if it's neutrality "to _" then this depends what the type you mention is, so @ me on discord and we can figure it out. Tera Ghost and Fairy both fit the boxes of general neutrality are both decent defensive options as well, and Landorus-T can utilize both of those types well. Flying Tera Blast Flying + Earthquake makes for a very difficult Pokemon to switch into, and even outside of Flying Tera Flying, (ac) Landorus-T can gain much needed coverage with whichever Tera type (rh) + Tera Blast you decide to go. Landorus-T does like to keep its Spikes, Toxic Spikes, and Ground and Electric-type immunities, however, so be certain to time your its Tera wisely.

Draft Strategy
========
Landorus-T checks off so many of the parameters that one looks for in a draft if you mean the format in generally here, "Draft" but if you mean just a drafted team then it can stay lowercase team that you can pretty much draft anything alongside it. Having an immunity to Ground and Electric, two very common coverage types, Landorus-T appreciates being able to negate one of those moves switch in on those types of moves assuming you mean this here; if you don't, the original isn't necessarily incorrect, but it's a little more vague and U-Turn U-turn out of unfavorable matchups into something that can handle its weak points.

**Bulky Water-type**: Bulky Water-types are already fantastic in Draft, so the two covering each other's weaknesses is just the cherry on top. Pick one up and use them as pivots into your more offensive Pokemon.

**Win conditions Wincons**: Unfortunately, (ac) without reliable speed control, (ac) Landorus-T will not realistically be winning any games by itself. Be sure to draft a Pokemon like Sneasler or Greninja that appreciates being pivoted into while Landorus-T softens up the team for those Pokemon.

**Special attackers**: Landorus-T loves to lure in physical walls only to pivot out into a strong special attacker to that can begin punching holes into teams. In addition to Chi-Yu and Greninja, a fantastic teammate would be Gholdengo, (ac) who as it appreciates a Ground immunity, (ac) while Landorus-T appreciates the Ice resistance and entry hazard removal blocking that Gholdengo provides.

**Spikes/Toxic Spikes setters**: Landorus-T will almost always be your Stealth Rock user due to its relatively limited movepool, and with Intimidate and U-Turn U-turn, (ac) it will cause a lot of pivoting on both sides of the field. Punishing You can punish all of that pivoting with hazard users like Overqwil, Toxapex, and Tentacruel, (ac) who which all appreciate the Ground immunity Landorus-T gives your team.

**Speed control/priority move users**: Landorus-T struggles with picking off faster Pokemon if it is not holding a Choice Scarf, so be sure to draft a Pokemon like Scizor or Azumarill that can accomplish this with their powerful priority moves.

Checks and Counters
========
**Water-types**: Most bulky Water-types can shrug off a defensive Landorus-T's Earthquake while threatening it out with a STAB move, while offensive Water-types like Greninja and Manaphy are able to outspeed and OHKO with their STAB moves.

**Ice-type coverage or Ice-types or Ice-type moves**: Landorus-T will often fall victim to getting chunked by Ice-type coverage, as Pokemon such as Great Tusk, Clefable, and Iron Treads, (ac) which would otherwise be relatively safe switch-ins (ah) for Landorus-T, (ac) can include it in their movesets.

**Ground-type immunities**: Sometimes taking two turns to hit your opponent the foe with Gravity + Earthquake is not a practical solution to dealing with Ground immunities, and with no Flying-type coverage, (ac) you Landorus-T will rely on the painfully inaccurate Rock-type coverage moves Landorus-T has to hit Ground immunities. For instance, Pokemon like Gliscor and Zapdos-Galar Galarian Zapdos would appreciate the free turn you give them by setting Gravity up and then are still able to easily tank Earthquake.

**Strong special attackers**: Strong special attackers, (ac) such as Enamorus-Incarnate or Darkrai, (ac) can take advantage of Landorus-T's middling special bulk to force it out, even with substantial investment in HP and Special Defense.
