I have no idea why, but my father is also extremely fluent in French.
Not really. My mother's parents speak Yiddish, but I know almost no Yiddish. My father comes from a non-religious family, so only English there.
I live in a jewish neighborhood, and no one speaks in Hebrew here.
To get a regents diploma, you need a foreign language. My school offers only Hebrew, so at least I now have some skill in the language.

You could add a thread that says how many contests each member has one. And the current winning member could be displayed in the group description. The winning member could have some special privileges within the group. I'll type all the wins that people have and pm it to you if that's ok.
Also, you could incorporate Team Rocket in the group. Maybe if people win enough contests (it will have to be a lot), they could get a promotion in TRC.
That's how I feel about my AP Physics class right now. At least I've finally taken the test for Calculus.
