What we need to do is run the good old cutback play more often.
We ran it last week against the Redskins (skip to about 2:50), but before then I don't think I've seen us run that play since early 2009. That was Turner's most successful play by *far* in his '08 campaign, and where he got a lot of his yardage.
These days Turner doesn't even look for a hole, he just plows ahead where the play calls him to. He's like the opposite of Chris Johnson in that regard, who spends far too much time looking for a hole to open. I can't tell you how many times he's just run ahead into his own offensive linemen this year and gotten tackled after a 1 yard gain.
With his contract, he's probably worth negative value at this point. If he leaves the team it will be because he's gotten released.
Franks is no Weems, but as long as he doesn't turn the ball over he's OK in my book.
