Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
Glad to hear you're back for Gen VI, I guess it will be refreshing for everyone who is tired of the current metagames. That doesn't include me though, since I just got into serious battling recently, lol. I'm not ready to say goodbye to Gen V yet!!
I'm not sure what you mean by fix the site, it is pretty much done, as far as I can tell.
oh really? hmm thats kinda lame, i knew all the assholes would ruin it for everyone. I only play wifi so i really want the battle finder back for gen 6. i'm working on a sun team for 6th gen because charizard is my favorite pokemon and i would love to be able to actually use him in ou without him being dead weight.
how good Charizard is really depends on how mega evolution works. The factors are wether or not they evolve before anyone attacks, if you can mega evolve then switch and whether or not they stay evolved when they switch out and come back in. Also how much of a boost to special attack he gets will be a factor.
he is supposed to get a significant boost to special attack while other megas have just said they will get a boost, so we will see how much difference that makes. So alot of these things will determine wether or not he replaces nintales or if they should be used in tandem. Charizard will probably be a decent sweeper.
I have made a possible team without ninetales and two with him. The one without ninetales is almost anti weather rather than really focused on sun, not sure how it will work. Charizard and venusuar will be the only real abusers however the team has good synergy.
yeah thats true however i can still get some idea. In theory the pokemon i am using have all improved. fire types charizardninetales get a new resist. venusaur is going to be immune to sleep and stun spore and has a new target for stab, fairy. i am considering rotom who will not be able to be paralized and scizor who loses a few resists but gains a new target for his stab.
i think offensive steel types benefit from the changes while defensive ones suffer. obviously all of the dragons have gotten a huge nerf, but i used the new type chart to work on my synergy. I actually made a charizard with drought although it either has underwhelming power or has to use choice specs.
Steel types losing their resists is actually what I am most disappointed about...it will just make the metagame even more offensive because now even Steel types can't wall most threats. I'm really liking the buff to Venusaur though, not Breloom can't really do anything to it (unless it uses Ice Punch or something) this actually helps with the whole sleep spam problem in general.
sleep was so overpowered im glad they did something, especially for grass types, ferrothorn and breloom were the only really good ones considering sun had no chance in gen 5. Venusaur might be usable outside sun now because of its mega. It may end up really offensive but i have to give nintendo credit for at least making an attempt at balancing things out.
Eh...honestly I liked the addition of Fairy type, but I hated the change to Steel. Adding new types is a better idea than just changing up old ones, at least in my opinion.
The grass and spore change makes sense though, so I like it. It's just...steel...why...
