I'm not a fan myself I think its for two reasons. First of all both make it VERY far in the seasons that they compete in and pretty much all their appearances develop their relationship in some way. Second is that they are much more focused than the other 4 S4 and S5 new/lingering relationships, so newer viewers adore them.

Oh I get it, so I'm guessing mass hysteria when they got kicked, right
