Hope is not totally lost, though. A few were interested, and I did my best to explain a lot of basic points. Hopefully I did well enough. (also, I need to stop saying "they" and start saying "we", since I did just join the club).

Should we start a thread that explains basic conceptual differences between smogon rulesets and battle spot? I could PM you some of the basic stuff I typed up (really fast, random order, would need to be honed lol).

We were thinking of doing a C&C article down the line honestly. There's a sticky in the Battle Spot subforum that's sort of an introduction, but it predates Pokebank. Also check out my conversation with Hula below and give me your email if you'd like so I can add you to a Google doc for an article we want to do advertising Battle Spot on the Smog.

Also, there was a post on the battle spot ladder thread from catacomb that I think needs addressing, and I'm still thinking of the best way to word a response (difference between on cart battle spot vs sim battle spot).

The biggest difference is the lack of JPN players on the sim (overall lower sample size).

I think that's different, the sim channel is doing their own thing for promotion, we're doing ours. imo you can't get better playing the sim though.

Yeah, I know, I'm just looking for the right words to express how much *richer* the battle environment is on cart vs. on sim. Anyways, added a blob to the bottom of your google doc, and I'm still adding comments to the top blurb. :)

btw sorry my comments aren't in-depth at the moment. I know you put in a lot of hard work and effort. I'm just busy as fuck between all the projects I gave myself lol >.>
