Here is where we have a flashback. Long ago when potatoes were still pretty normal the third god of physics caught the potato king cheating with his waifu. This caused the second great war (only one potato was left from the first great war, which was basically a legend at this point).

Of course when you b@tle the gods you lose so as further punishment the third god of physics made his element particularly lethal. But this does not account for the powers of flight. To Be Continued.
