Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
I would imagine a dorito would be significantly heavier than a parachute. Plus, there's still a risk that the sharp part would still make contact. I wouldn't take that chance.
Not really. Considering the weather conditions in Florida and how seemingly insane it is, all it would take for you to fall into the hands of a giant dorito is the following:
A gentle breeze. So you're nomming on the dorito, and all of a sudden a gust of wind blows through. Assuming that you are in a metropolis area (it's, again, Florida), it's safe to assume that the dorito would break part into multiple parts before ever making contact with you or the ground. However.
I would imagine the general weight and texture of a dorito the size of a Groudon to actually be dangerous to a great extent. Taking into a consideration that doritos can very well get stuck in-between your teeth very easily, I'm inclined to believe that they are sharp enough to cause some degree of harm, depending on which angle they fall and which piece made contact with you.
So I suppose it depends how their general weight and mass, but i dont think they're really THAT light enough to make a very slow plunge into the ground.
