sorry, i only talk to people who listen to blackened technical folky doom melodic brutal deathcore

jk lol i like pretty much everything. What do you listen to?

I'm mostly into symphonic metal, but I'll listen to most genres (well, not deathcore, but I'm pretty sure that's not even metal.) Within Temptation is in particular one of my favorite bands. Outside of that subgenre, some of my favorite bands are Metallica (though I like pretty much all of the big four acts equally,) Pantera, Nightrage, and Mastodon. But yeah, I'll listen to pretty much any subgenre of metal but I also like various rock and roll bands (come on, you HAVE to like the Foo Fighters) and SOME pop (older shit, in particlar I've been listening to lots of Michael Jackson lately... but seriously, modern pop music is shit, and just calling it music makes me sick... Seriously, are "Turn Down For What" and "Anaconda" what my generation likes?)

I used to be mostly into metalcore in high school, but I grew out of it. Nowadays I only really like Killswitch Engage, Parkway Drive, and Bullet for my Valentine from that genre.

In other news: The next time a radio station plays Ice Ice Baby, I'm going to go apeshit because when that song starts I keep thinking it's Queen's "Under Pressure." Uuuuuuugh.

Well, this became quite a long post.

Symphonic metal? Interesting. The only band I listen to that would be considered symphonic is Wintersun. My favorite genre right now would have to be death, too many bands that I like from that genre to count. I'm gonna try my hand at black metal soon. And yeah, who doesn't love the big four. My favorite is Megadeth, but they all kick ass.

Pantera is awesome, although I don't listen to it much (don't know why). Right now I listen to only metal, but I used to listen to a lot of rock/progressive rock like Nirvana or Pink Floyd. Early Michael Jackson is nice, and I agree about the modern pop music lol. I was never into metalcore. I started with 2 Metallica songs and went from there lol. And how are you about to hate on Ice Ice Baby? Dopest song of all time haha!

Damn, I just looked up Nightrage cause I didn't know them. Seeing as they play one of my favorite types of metal, and they have the vocalist from At The Gates, this will be the next band to check out...

I found out about them shortly after I found out about Dead by April - a band I'd describe as... Pop metal or... something, I don't know how to describe them. But basically, the founding member of that band was a former vocalist for Nightrage, played with them on one album (titled A New Disease is Born.) That album was what got me into the death metal genre, actually. I listened to Dethklok before that, but that was just because Metalocalypse is a parody of death metal and it's hilarious.

Nightrage needs to learn how to keep a consistent lineup though...

I actually have a Dead By April song on my Itunes and I can't remember why... not bad though. Haven't listened to Dethklok but I hear they do make hilarious music based on the Metalocalypse episodes. When I have more free time I'll look into the show and the albums. I'd say Wintersun and Necrophagist got me into death metal. And yeah, Nightrage seems to have a lot of lineup changes... it seems like everyone but the guitarist comes and goes lol

Is it a Swedish problem or something? In Flames has the same problem.

Yea thinking about it now Swedish bands tend to have pretty volatile lineups.

I guess there are so many good metal acts there that it's hard to stay with just one.
