Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan how have you been?!? It's been way, way, way too long, haha.

Re: Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker

Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker is great! Missions are generally improved and the sequel scenario (The Triangulum arc) is absolutely amazing. You get access to a large pool of characters early on, so there's more variety this time around too. Overall, it's a fun, fun game, and if you liked DS: Overclocked then you basically owe to it yourself to get it.

So what have you been up to?

I'll definitely be picking up Record Breaker then. As for me, well, I took (I guess am still taking) a break from Pokemon; still playing the occasional game or two, but gone are the days I had time to ladder all day. Busy with final year of school and got sucked in by the League of Legends exodus, too. Since I'm done I'm trying to catch / keep up with Smogon things now.

Yeah post secondary school will do that you. What are you taking if you don't mind me asking?

Oh, and feel to free hit me up with questions or impressions and the like.

For sure. Still going for some of the other endings in Overclocked; I played it blind and foolishly picked Yuzu's route for my first run. Felt like the 8th day return to the lockdown was a cop-out, but oh well. How do you rate Overclocked endings?

As for me, I was majoring in English and Computer Science. Currently considering law school now, but that might be subject to change. I'm giving myself some time to figure out what I want to do now.

Yeah you definitely drew the short end of the stick in terms of endings (you even missed out on the +1 movement for the protagonist in new game+). Ending wise, I really liked Atsuro's ending; partly because i'm very fond of the character and partly because I like his "solution" (though in a certain light, it's kind of a fucked up ending). I also liked Gin since it's probably the "best" ending in a traditional happy ending sense, and the extra focus on Haru was nice. Amane and Naoya's ending were fun to play through, though i'm not really fond of the direction Amane's heads in (I mean siding with God, the biggest asshole in the SMT universe? smh) Meanwhile, Naoya's ending is interesting in that you're given 2 choices in how it plays out (You can choose to kill everyone that gets in your way or continue on as you've done before). It's ambitious and empowering (especially if you decide to cut loose) but it stops short of greatness since you can't actually fight God.

Taking it slow is definitely a good idea; don't want to rush into something that'll be hard to back out of. Incidentally, I'm in Computer Science myself and not particularly great at it, but i'm trying my best. It's a really lucrative field so hopefully I pull through somehow.

Did I really miss the move buff? I was playing Fire Emblem before this, and when I saw Yuzu's movement for the first time, a part of me died inside. I've been spamming Wilders on my second playthrough in response (and ended up with only Amane's route unlocked, despite having unlocked all the routes on my first run. Go figure).

The best advice I can give you regarding CSCI (if you're looking for it) is to start doing your own side-projects, if you haven't already. A standard CSCI curriculum covers a lot of topics, so there's not as much time to cover all those topics in-depth. Self-motivated projects may aid in that regard, in addition to acting as a constant refresher to basic programming principles. In any case, hope it goes well for you!

Yeah, you don't get the +1 move bonus from doing her route sadly (which made sense back when it was basically bad end route in the original game but with the 8th day...)

Oh you dabble with Fire Emblem? You psyched for fire emblem fates?

Yeah all of my CS friends have said the same exact thing. Now's the perfect time too since I don't really have anything to do in the summer. It gets pretty dull though and I always want to do something else, heh. Guess i'd better power through it.

And thanks. Hope things go well for you as well.
