    I have Noob guides for RNG on my thread. They are for breeding not catching. When VGC is wrapped up, you should take a look at them.
    That's very good news.

    If you do decide you want a non-shiny lugia, however, I do have Bilall's Lugia. I just need to track down who traded him to me. I had very bad admin the last few weeks and lost track of my trades.
    Well, it's not my Lugia, and I don't know the history of who traded it to who. I only know who I got it from. This is why I list who traded me the pokes I have on the other OT section. I can only vouch for my own pokes that I trade personally.

    It's best get a hack check done if you really want to be sure it will be ok on VGC.
    I don't recommend a shiny for VGC anyhow. I don't know if they frown on RNG or not.
    Shinies often have catch dates that are weird. It's because the clock must be reset to a time where a shiny with a useful IV spread can be found. There's a lot of useless spread with better dates, but only a few really good ones.

    If you're concerned with the date, you should take a non-shiny legendary instead.
