monferno has a faster taunt + stealth rock and leads right now arent very good considering rockers with survivability like stunfisk are even more helpful on offense to check mons like zebra

This is true, but onix is used on sun teams, witch really Need a lead, i understand That golem is better than onix on This Job, but i think That the niche That onix have is better carbink's niche(witch rely more on predicts) and carbink's bulk Isn't That relevant, like you will not be able of survive 2 hits from a SE move anyway, so a faster mon have a better chance of doing 2 things per match.(SR+Sun)

neither sun lead can reliably get up stealth rocks and sun as its so easy to counter lead, and taunt just leads to more mispredicting
