My school band fucking sucks so I don't play in it (its really demotivational when its you+2 competent players+15 incompetent players), but fortunately there are lots of council-funded youth bands in my borough for me to take part in. They're really good for the most part, and its much easier to play (and less soul-crushing when you make mistakes) if you have other people who know music around to support you. They always recognise when I'm down and cheer me up, which is more than I can ask of people at school rofl.

What have you been doing on your holiday? Sightseeing and sunbathing or have you been doing lots of other stuff?

and that's awesome! I wish there was like an art club near my neighborhood. been really getting into the arts and one day I hope to draw really good ^^ I've stopped drawing because I had to study for the SATs but I want to resume after I come back.

O u draw? I picked it up as a hobby recently (particularly children in manga style) and I really enjoy it. I'm not very good though and can't draw out of front profile yet, but it'll come eventually with practice.

What kinds of stuff do you usually draw? Any particular style, or just whateverou feel like?

Realism! And "being bad at something is the first step to being sorta good at something," right? :D I'm terrible I think but I still like drawing xd one day I hope I can draw anything I like from imagination. I used to want to draw anime/manga style but then I just stopped liking the style :p I usually just draw body parts like hands and arms and stuff. I want to get the basics of the human body so then I can draw like anything (I think). After that I'd probably practice backgrounds but that's gonna be far away. I'll probably spend many months studying the human anatomy and then gong to animal anatomy :3

I follow your philosophy of "being bad is the first step to being good" as without that mindset I wouldn't have the motivation to follow any skill-based hobby lol. I like how it calms your mind to just put your pencil to paper and start sketching, no matter how terribad the final result is rofl, and I respect that I won't ever get good if I don't embrace my shitty drawings to their fullest xD

yeah sometimes you just have to ditch motivation for discipline xD i accept my drawings are terribad but that just makes me want to practice more so they can become beautiful ;3

I had this sketchbook that I drew in for a year and if you look at the first page and then the last page, the difference is real. maybe I can show you it if i can find it ;0 if you want to become art buddies we totally can :D

That'd be pretty sweet. So far I've relied on different people for opinions, but it'd be good to sort of share and comment on work with someone who's improving alongside me (even if I draw less than I should for someone trying to improve rofl). I have a habit of doing a large number of crappy drawings in a short space of time and then going 1-2 weeks without drawing anything at all lol

Consistency is super important ;PP Do you have a tumblr account? You should make one and it would be much easier to communicate and post pictures :D It's great at recording progress too. They also added an Instant Messaging thing chat which is great! We should start on like April third and are you willing to draw everyday? :P Im gonna bother you if you do commit!
