I didn't change it so much because I dislike the name as because of certain links I've made in my head between that name and my past (for reasons that aren't it having "boy" in it), so honestly it is for the best in my mind—although I'm sure there are people who dislike the change.

The . Is only there because of Martin on its own being taken, and the irl thing is ultimately down to me liking my IRL name enough to use it as a gamer tag xD
