o damn, I dont know many people who know of, let alone have read dorohedoro !_! That's actually awesome haha. what did you think about it?

i personally thought it was cool with the twist of the whole magic user trope, but it got kinda confusing sometimes
i don't remember any specifics about the story anymore since it's been a few years, but i also really dig the artstyle :>

yeah, i really enjoyed the whole spin on the generic fantasy genre as well, especially with how gritty and dark it was compared to most things you see in the genre. Ngl, the plot did get confusing at time, especially with how fucking crazy the premise was too begin with. the art is bomb though haha. Glad to talk to another reader of the series :]

on that note, you read / watched anything similar lately?

yeah actually. Anime wise, Re: Zero Kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu is actually surprisingly really good. It's also a dark fantasy and it's from this season. Starts off lokking like a generic fantasy parody, but o boi, by episode 1 (episode 0 is the start), everything turns around. Really intriguing and a great deconstruction on the more standard shit you see pumped out today.

I havent read too much from the fantasy genre recently, but i did pick up Fire Punch, which first chapter (chapter 0) dropped the other week, which is p badass and features those dark and gritty vibes you would find in something like dorohedoro, maybe a bit more rounded out due to the art style. What about you? picked up anything intresting manga / anime wise recently?

i've always been following the arachnid / caterpillar manga for a while and it updated recently so there's that; standard high school student awakens inner beast to fight against an assassin organisation who apparently take on the traits of various insects. oh, and there's another manga called 'until death do us part' that i really enjoyed because it was also another dark and gritty version of the 'high school esper fights other espers' kinda thing

re;zero is defs a strong contender for aots, but i also am enjoying kabaneri and jojo

oh, i actually recently picked up until death do us part, it's been really cool so far. The mc is a complete badass haha. Give me a lot of Rakia vibes and even some Sun-Ken Rock Vibes. I haven't read the previously mentioned manga, but it sounds cool, so I might check it out. I also recently started reading tensei shitara slime datta ken.

I dont know if youve read it, but it's a lot like re;monster to the point were there's speculations that their worlds are one in the same. basically it's a bout a man whose stabbed and dies trying to save his co-worker and is reincarnated as a slime (lol), but this slime is a complete badass haha. defs worth a read if you havent alredy. it's like 9 chapters so far and releases are slow, but it's great.

sounds good, i'll check it out. also literally everyone in death gets progressively more badass as the plot thickens haha, it's just a really fun ride.

I can imagine, I'm only a few chapters in and the character development has been very solid without filling forced. Kabaneri is defs AoTS if this keeps up, it's so fucking good. Unfort I only started watching Jojo a few weeks ago, so im not caught up yet :( Do you think anything else from this season stands out? I know I'm enjoying kiznaiver and joker game. There's some other stuff like stray dogs, academia and sakamoto that I've read, but haven't watched her, which I hope are good.
