Infamy showcases the key metagame trends that came about as a result of SubRecycle Drifloon's popularity in an extremely solid team based around a Drifloon + Trapinch core. The now-banned Drifloon is best known for the set shown in this team, which can stall out many traditional Flying-type checks and beat most of the metagame one on one. Trapinch began gaining recognition soon after SubRecycle Drifloon for its ability to trap several fast and powerful threats that other trappers could not; in this case, it gets rid of Magnemite and Chinchou, among others, so that Drifloon can attempt a sweep. Staryu is arguably the best hazard remover in the game because it has so many moveset and spread options to get around its checks. Here, Thunder Wave cripples Drifloon switch-ins, and a bulky EV spread lets it check Fire-, Rock-, and Ground-types.
