your presumption that science is the opposite of bias is incorrect.

there is a difference between cognitive bias and the term "bias". human beings are creatures of perception, and our bias is the only thing that allows us to believe in our abikity to justify our beliefs. Science aims for the objective via subjective creatures who have subjective goals and desires, using objective standards to isolate a matter of fact.
