Unfortunately the way Smogon tiering works is we try to limit as much complexity as possible. Unbanning Blaze Blaziken could potentially open up a huge can of worms for other possible complex bans, such as banning the ability for a certain Pokemon to use a specific movesets or teammates.

The Shadow Tag ban was different because we banned the ability entirely, vs just Shadow Tag Goth. The only way Blaze Blaziken would ever exist in OU, is if there was a blanket ban on Speed Boost, but not all users of the ability are broken with it. while Shadow Tag was banned on everything due to its rather uncompetitive nature.

You said "Unbanning Blaze Blaziken could potentially open up a huge can of worms for other possible complex bans, such as banning the ability for a certain Pokemon to use a specific movesets or teammates."

In this case, I am not arguing for specific movesets or teammates. Only the ability on that mon, that's it.

what Gary is saying is unbanning Blaze on Blaziken sets a precedent for allowing complex bans over less complex ones that still ban the broken mechanic in question. Smogon is big on precedent, so your argument that "unbanning Blaze Blaziken is fine and won't cause anything else" is an incorrect notion.

Yes I understand, but it's mostly just a matter of whether or not we WOULD stop there. It's still considered a complex ban, so people could argue to just ban something like Thousand Arrows on Zygarde, or Quiver Dance on Volcarona, Judgement on an Arceus form, etc.
