I've read it. But I think you don't really interpret the skill involved relative to 1v1 as a whole. And doesn't even consider the actual sleep users in the metagame.

(also the strawpoll is worthless, because people don't know what the word uncompetitive is)

Sleep doesn’t diminish creative team building, ie using as Jumpluff as a speed check with a slow team is the same as using A SD user with a special team. You can’t just throw on a sleep based Pokémon and expect mindless success.

Sleep also does adapt to the metagame like Yawn Stunfisk and the metagame can adapt back.

Also you don’t really consider predictions/probability management in 1v1.

Predictions like vivillion vs Blaziken (base) and probability management in 1v1 is hitting/missing 95% of the time with Crits being 4% and secondary effects being 1%. So acting like sleep completely changes that isn’t true. AND sleep users DO manage their probability, Jumpluff with wide lens, any sleep user with sub etc.

Considering users is an absolutely fair judgement call.

If one user uses a mechanic fairly 95% of the time but another only 33% why would we strike the mechanic instead of the user. We didn’t ban Serene Grace, we banned Jirachi for example.
