To be honest, I really prefer the 3DS trilogy, but the anime was gross.

i don't even watch gakuen y but i am playing the game, it's great. yw3 and 4 will always be better though

Yeah, YW3 is a huge overhaul to the first two 3DS games, but at least it kept something from those. At least it made the western release before Level-5 abby died.

i don't think it could work on switch at all with how the battles work, so it'll lay with the rest of the great 3ds games that can never be ported...

i know, but can you imagine trying to move your yo-kai around with the stick fast enough to dodge attacks AND purifying/charging soultimates? it would add some difficulty (which the original game didn't really have), but i don't think bad controls should be the reason things are hard. there's probably more things that wouldn't translate well, but that's the main issue.
