Hey :) Always welcome to post on my profile, don't worry ^^ However, be aware that I'm not a staff member, so my answers are based on my knowledge, but unofficial!
As for the Smogon Tour: right now, you needn't do anything more than being excited. Every Saturday (two tours a day) and Sunday (one tour a day), you can opt to participate in one of the tours.

Each weekend, a different generation is played (this weekend, it will be Gen8; then next weekend Gen7, and in 2 weeks Gen6; then back to 8 -> 7 -> 6).
At the exact time of each tournament, you'll need to post "in" in the thread that opens up in this forum.

You have to be punctual, or you're unlikely to get in :) And then, you play that tournament in the following minutes (or hours, depending on how well you fare), on smogtours.
Each weekend, you can partake in a maximum of 2 out of the three tournaments! So if you decide to play both tournaments on Saturday, then you may not enter the Sunday one.
