Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
Great! I'll go download it ASAP! Thanks so much for creating this great program. Your timer has helped me unbelievably. I never looked into hitting high delays before because I thought it was too hard. However, your timer is sooooooo easy! Thanks bud. :)
Oh? I thought save states were just an "ease of use" issue since they allow you to hit a seed, save, and then keep coming back to the seed without having to hit it again? I'll wait for your PM whenever. It's no rush, cuz my bud's only like at Erika right now! xD
I guess you would need a 3rd Gen Flash cart? I've actually got a bud of mine playing through LG while I'm RNGing on HG, clearing out the game for me just so I can RNG a jolly Mewtwo. I've got XD, so I can tutor it onto it. I still haven't looked very deeply into how to do it though. If you've got any tips, could you PM me 'em? :3
Just giving you an update: My latest Emloop try yielded a delay of 2324 (argh, so close). XD I'll give Emloop 2 more tries before going back to your timer.
Just throwing it out there... are you sure it's the timer being inconsistent, or could it be human error? I've noticed that before I used this one song to "control" my taps, my delay would wander. However, now, it's literally (without your timer) either 491/489 1/2 the time.
I haven't figured out how to advance my frame yet, but so far, your little timer has provided an EXTREMELY consistent method of reaching high delays. In this case it's 805. Tapping along to the beat of one of my favorite songs (Marty, by fiveironfrenzy), I figured out I could very consistently hit a delay of 491. Using that same song, turning it on at 15 seconds (like I usually do anyway) to control my tapping, it seems I can use your timer to basically hit any delay I want now! Thank you! :D
Ok, I'm back, I tried once on Emloop putting the same times in as in your timer and I got really close:
Delay: 2316, Seconds: 30. I think I put the information in Emloop in the right places, I put the "first timer" amount in the top one to the right of the start button, and the "second timer" amount in the one right above the start button and set everything else to 0.
Yeah, I've been trying that, but also, the process of checking what I actually hit is taking longer as with each reset, I have to manually check IV's, but so far, I've still been very far off, both high and low.
The information at the top is correct: Calibrated Delay: 600, Wanted Delay: 2322, Calibrated Second: 14, Wanted Second: 30.
I don't really know much about computers, but here's the information on my system properties screen that I can tell might have something to do with speed:
P8600 @ 2.40 GHz
1.56 GHz, 2.72 GB of RAM
If it matters, I'm currently using Boot Camp on a Mac and am running Windows XP
The only reason I ask is because I'm so used to having my target time at :00, but I'll be using :01 this time, and I just need to know if I need to set my DS clock like 1 second behind or ahead or something @_@
Bout to get started, but one last thing I thought I'd ask. Usually, I synchronize my cell phone stopwatch with my DS clock exactly 1 minute before hand and press start on my AR at exactly :45. My question is, would I get the timer all set up and press start on the timer EXACTLY 1 minute before my target time? Then I guess the 1st timer would run down till the moment I need to press Start on my AR and then I should tap till I get to the blue screen and wait till the moment the 2nd timer runs out?
Sorry for the noob questions. :? I really like the 10 second countdown there at the end! That's helpful!
Ok, well I tried something else, instead of checking the coin flips, I caught a pokemon to check my seed and I found out that the seconds were not the problem, I was only off by +-1, but the delay is very off. My latest attempt yielded a delay of 2254 and I'm aiming for 2322... I'm going to keep trying a few more times fiddling with the timer.
I figured that was all. I've been having such a hard time getting this Timid HP Ground 70 Kyogre because my frame was between 5100 and 5200 and I keep getting inconsistent advancements and phone calls and crap screwing me up in the 50 minutes it takes me to get to 5000ish with Sweet Scents (fastest way to advance in HG/SS that I know of), so hopefully, your wonderful timer will help me get this higher delay muuuuuuch lower frame seed that I'm gonna try for tonight.
Hi Pikachu, I'm having a little trouble with my second try using your timer. I'm getting some really off results, not in terms of delay, but in terms of seconds. I'm aiming for a delay of 2322 and a second of 30, but I got no results in RNG reporter for my coin flips until I expanded it really far and the coin flips matched 2324 (close enough where it was my error), but the second was 23...
