    Yeah, I used to watch every episode like the first few seasons, but it got too repetitive. I got tired of Team Rocket and Ash not winning it all =( . I'm starting to watch again, but I wanna restart to see all that I missed by starting from the beginning. If you ever want to practice battle, just let me know - only problem is I don't have EVed flawless PKMN =/
    I'll definitely watch Death Note if I have time in the future. I forgot to say I watch PKMN too, but it's not as good as the others lol. It's no big deal; metagame is hard to define! I think it means what is considered usual in an environment of competitive gaming. Haha, that might be wrong, but it's something like that. You should watch others to learn different styles of play so you can know what to expect.
    I'd like to check it out, but I don't have much free time. I was supposed to check out Death Note (highly recommended from my friends), but haven't had the time for that either =/
    If you want to gain more experience with the metagame, you should try watching Youtube videos of people battling over WiFi (especially ones with commentary), I've learned a lot of things from watching many videos. My first metagame WiFi battle I lost only because my PKMN weren't flawless =( . We should have a friendly battle sometime if you're up for it!
    Tbh I have very little experience when it comes to the metagame, I just read a lot of the analyses Smogon put up; they're very helpful! I never heard of K-On before; I'm more of a mainstream anime-watcher. My favorite shows are Yu Yu Hakusho, Naruto, Bleach, DB/DBZ, Rurouni Kenshin, and G Gundam. I don't mind watching other anime - as long as it's good that's all that matters =)
    Yeah, Dragonite is a pretty good replacement and he can be used for other roles if you want; Kingdra can learn moves that hit every type (with water and dragon attacks) in the game for at least neutral damage, except Empoleon - you can use HP Electric to do some decent damage to it if you want; I wish I had a Kingdra myself =/. That's cool that you love anime; I do too! What shows do you watch?
    I think Kingdra or Dragonite could be another consideration for your team, but I guess it really depends on the other members more than who can fill Salamence's shoes. That's what I thought it was; just didn't wanna sound silly saying the wrong thing, haha. So I'm guessing you like anime.
