i think the stuff that chessking posted abt scheduling goes into more detail abt extensions but basically you can ask for an extension which means that your play time is extended for 1/2 of a round more

2) If your schedules are absolutely incompatible, consider asking for an extension. Extensions in tournaments are half of the following round's length, rounded down to the next full day. If the next round is 7 days long, as is usually the case, you can get an extension of up to 3 days into the round. If you can't find a time that works in the original round, see if you can schedule for sometime in the extension timeframe.
