  • Well hopefully you just wanna masterball it ;)

But to find it, the only "easy" way to do it is:
    1) get a pokemon that is 1 level below the level of your target (latias, what is that? L35? so L34.)
    2) get a bunch of repels
    3) Go to ANY place where two routes meet and there is tallgrass on both routes
    4) open up your map in your pokegear, just so when you open the pokegear it pops up to your map
    5) simply walk a few steps until the message pops up saying you entered the new route, then check your map and see if Latias is in your route
    6) simply walk a few steps back until the message pops up saying you went back into the route you came from, then check your map and see if Latias is in your route
    7) Repeat, and within just a few minutes it WILL randomly end up in your route, just be patient
    8) Use the repel and walk around in the nearest tallgrass patch in that route. Because your mon is 1 level below Latias, all the wild mons won't show up, only Latias will

Neatoburrito! Not much advice here. Just do your best to advertise/whatever and make sure the rules are clear and simple.

They still host live tourneys on Saturdayafternoons on #smogonwifi (that link to the smogon chatroom in my sig). It might help you with your live tourney to see how they arrange and run them there. But you've already seen the VGCs live so you know what's what (wut-wut?)
BAHAHAHA that's so great man! You nail team Rocket to a T!! Oh, and the EV GUIDE. It says all the same things but in technical-ese.
Yeah, yeah you got it. Literally just deposit him, them withdraw him and his stats will have been re-calculated to incorporate whatever EVs he currently has. Back in 09 Platinum didn't have the same local wireless stuff like HGSS does, so all your pokes for the VGCs had to be L50 or lower. I used a heatran at Nats 09, but since it came already AT L50 in Plat, I had to very carefully EV it, then put it in the PC box to force the game to apply the EVs without leveling it up.
AACK!! I totally forgot to link you and now I'm on my phone again. If you get the time, VM me again this evening when I'm home (I'm so forgetful). And yeah I prolly know what you're talking about with the leveling thing. I think we all get confused about that in the beginning. If you're interested in all the intricate details, the guide goes into all that. But for simplicity's sake, the short answer would be that it doesn't matter what level you put your EVs in at. As soon as you go up to the next level, OR simply put your pokemon in your PC (some people don't know about the 'box trick') the game will AUTOMATICALLY recalculate your mon's stats incorporating whatever EVs you have in it.
LOL Shaggy. That really is a travesty. :( About EVs, I'll link you to a great guide that goes into detail after I get off work this evening (on phone now). The basic rule is that each poke gives a different amount. serebii's pokedex is a great place to find out what gives what. The MAX EVs you can put in a poke is 510 TOTAL. But the max you SHOULD put into any one stat depends. If it has a 30 IV 248 is the max you SHOULD put in. If it has a 31 IV 252 would be the max you SHOULD put in. At L50 putting 4 EVs in any one stat should raise it by 1 point, unless it has a SUPER low basestat, IV, or -nature. Oh, and FYI... the auto-ev-mod code doesn't trigger the VGC hackcheck. ;)
Yeah I know what you mean. Never even tried it but my god, tripples makes my brain hurt, just thinking about it.

Oh it went really well I feel. I made 13th, which is better than I did last year, and I got an "invite" to the World Championship again, like last year. However, they cut the number of paid invites in half this year, so I don't get any travel money. That means I moooooooost likely won't be able to go.

    BUT

I still had fun, played well, and have no regrets. :)

    13th at Nats ain't bad IMO. ;)
