  • Simple Requests, but you can get one from me now if you want. It's Japanese, therefore you use international parent settings.

You don't have to go ahead an hatch it. You can still attempt to RNG at least three perfect IVs in key stats.
That was a mistake. Lots of people on this forum will give you a perfect ditto for free when you're learning RNG.

Anyhow, you can still try to get a decent baby from that shiny, or you can start from scratch with a perfect ditto as one parent. I've never done this without a perfect ditto, but I think, because you don't have even one perfect parent, you can only hope for three perfect IVs out of this particular project.
No, that's not what I meant. I meant perfect IVs. Was this a ditto with perfect IVs that you got in trade here on Smogon so you could IV breed?
One of your parents was a perfect ditto wasn't it? We can possibly get around the problem if you can confirm this.
Are you having trouble with MSN? I had a sudden thought that maybe you have a slow internet connection. MSN can take a while to download if you have a slow connection.
Ok. You'll probably have to invite me, but I'll see the invite quickly. I'm logged on to my account. I only use it when I'm helping someone RNG.
I'll still be typing, because I don't use a mic with this computer. It's in the family room and talking disturbs everyone who's watching TV. But it's faster than using VM here on the forum.
    It's chamommy@live.ca

Chamommy was my old forum name, which I changed to Riski to match my favourite game name.
I don't but I could register for one if you'd like. You don't have AIM? If not, give me your MSN Screen name and I'll download the messenger right away.
Do you have MSN Messenger? It might help if we could communicate faster than by VM.
    No...
Shininess is determined when you deposit. IVs are determined when you save in front of the old man.
Eep, no. Sorries, I was mistaken it with something else. If you have no matches...then something is definitely wrong.

Make sure you reset the time each and every time. I don't know how it'd not work though if you're already calibrating your delay/seconds.
Search Elm function has 12 places to enter digit right? The string you gave me was only 9?
Yes to do the calibrations you must set your ds clock to your current time. As for seconds I really have no idea why it was high:/
Ok, good. I'm relieved. I didn't want to point you in the wrong direction.

Ok, have a good sleep. Talk to you later.
Start the game from the DS menu--not turn on the DS at the top of the clock, please tell me you understood that I wrote that wrong the first time?
Maybe you should try it my way, since you're getting inconsistent results with a soft-reset. 13 seconds (no AR) is more correct than 40 or more seconds to start an HGSS game.
Sorry, I wasn't at all clear. I meant start the game from the DS menu screen. Some people do a soft reset at the top of the clock and it works for them. I do a game start from the DS menu screen at the top of the clock. The reason I do this is for consistency because I also have an AR, and to keep codes working, I must start from the game start, which works the same as the games start on the DS menu screen. Also, I have a flash cart device, so I must again start the game from the game start, equivalent to the DS menu screen again. I can't do it any other way because I'll lose access to the codes that show me the IVs.

So you can use a soft reset at the top of the clock. There's nothing wrong with that. I happen to use a full start from the DS menu (or whatever menu starts the pokemon game from the very very beginning).
Those high seconds you got calibrating are incorrect. For calibrating, you have to start the DS (BIG EDIT: not the DS, I mean start the game, sorry) when the second hands start the new minute, not any other time, or you just won't get correct results.
When I say recheck the parents, make sure of their nationality and click all appropriate boxes for it on RNG Reporter, especially in the window that generates the seed.

You have no choice but to start from scratch. Something is not being done correctly, and since I can't see what you're doing, it's up to you to look at every little box and window and try again. Believe me when I say that I've done this myself more times than I can count. The successful RNGers are just stubborn people who don't give up. So don't give up, recheck and retry.

Btw, 40 seconds? Is that close to your usual seconds? If not, you definitely need to use Pikatimer unless you are calculating the difference and adding it to your clock time when you start the game. You can't possibly get the right Elm responses if you don't get into the game at the right time. This is the very basic function of RNG, getting into the game on the right time.
You set you ds clock to an external clock that is your current time. Then you do the calibration you can't do anything else before do calibrations
Several things must be checked when you consistently get no matching Elm responses:

    1) did you really do everything needed to RNG in HGSS? Go to Kanto, show Mr. Pokemon's togepi to Elm, get a pokerus poke and take it to a Pokecentre.

    2) Recheck roamer positions at the time you save and make a note of them.

    2) Recheck all the data you put in RNG Reporter and check this against the date and time on the DS.

    4) Recheck your parent pokemon.

    5) Recheck that you do have the right seed.

Last, start from scratch and try again. The only way to RNG successfully is to recheck everything and try again.
To do Calibration elm methods and pikatiner aren't needed. You have to reset hour ds on the next minute quickly enter the world and capture a high lv pkmn
