Shoot, you're going to need to take an extra step to make the number odd. Okay, assuming seven steps, your number will be

3476-1221-6(for the caught poke)-6(2 patches)-7(steps) = 2236

Divided by 2, this gives you 1118 Journal Flips. As an additional note, I would go ahead and keep chaining after you catch the first one, as you have a pretty wide range of target frames to hit, and you may get lucky on the next one if you didn't on the first. It's probably not necessary, but it may help. On Shoddy, you go to "Find matches" "rated" (or Ladder) and select "UU" from the drop-down menu. Load your team, click on "find a match", wait a bit, and an opponent will pop up and battle you. Of course, this is rated, so these guys are pretty competitive!

Okay, so the actual frame of your caught pokemon is 1221. The lowest target frame is 3476. Now I don't know how many steps you need to take, or how many patches shook when you caught this poke, but here's the equation:

3476-1221-6-(patches)-(steps) = Total # of needed RNG Frame advances

Divide that by two and you'll have your journal flips. Good luck! Oh yeah, do you ladder on Shoddy in UU? I tried it, and it's pretty addictive, even though I don't think I'm doing that well yet.

First, you hit your seed, and enter that into the seed window of the main screen of RNG Reporter, along with Method J and the nature of your Synchronizer. Then you click Generate to see all the possible PIDs/Frames. Then, you catch your desired Pokemon, starting a chain of one. You look up the PID of this Pokemon on that list of possible Pokes, and use the Actual Frame. Going down the list, you will find several frames where you can catch your Pokemon with the target PID; pick one of them. Do NOT use the Actual Frame for this target! You want to use the Frame column on the far left. Then plug this into the equation found in Lightning Fusion's post on the first page of the All Gen Pokemon RNG Help thread:

[Target Frame - Actual Frame - # of steps - 6 - Pokeradar advances (number of patches that move)] / 2 = Number of Journal Flips

No man, you use the Actual frame for the 1st Pokemon you catch to start the chain, and the regular frame is the one you advance the journal to for your target Pokemon.
