It will let you open any .swf files or view embedded .swf content on websites. That includes music/video. Unlike Sun, Adobe actually did the port.
If you can manually start the DL this should work. If not, Adobe DOES support flash on the PSP. Go to their site (or just google Flash PSP) to get the DL. I'd give you the link, but they will only show me the links for the comp versions of Flash.

Shoddy won't work, but the tool I'm deving will (once ported). Shoddy is likely portable to the PSP also, but that's not something that I'm getting into.
You can't run normal java with Java ME(mobile edition, for phones etc.) :(
http://sourceforge.net/projects/pspkvm/ should work, but it's no rush (turns out I need to port the code I wrote to Java ME). The PSP only got a port of the mobile JVM, not the full-fledged computer one.

O.O well crap salad. Sry man, tbh I just googled Java PSP so I have no idea why that wouldn't work. Java flash player???? Aside from the fact that Java and Flash are totally unrelated and made by different companies, are you sure you were even trying to run a java (.class, .jar, .jnlp) file? That sounds a bit like youtube actually (only thing off the top of my head that uses flash and javaSCRIPT), but that's not java. -
