About the breeding project involving Gastrodon, I just realized that Gastrodon can't have Stockpile, Mirror Coat, and Counter bred on it at the same time. An error on my part, sorry. So either Count/Mirror Coat or Stockpile/Curse or just Stockpile will do.
Yeah, you can check your pidframe, you can check ivs / evs / PIDs... indeed.

I have tried using that method for my flashcart but I've never double-checked any seed so I'm not 100% sure but I got one result.

Well, it depends from hardware to hardware, you should try :p
You need to change vcount, timer0 ranges and such too and let the reporter run.
EDIT: [credit to karlmee] vcount should be changed to 0-80, timer0 needs to be changed to 700-8ff, gxstat stays at 6, vframe should be 0-19.
Then you also need to check the box that says "soft-reset".
Thanks for the trade, now, if you want to find your parameters, open that function in RNG reporter and soft reset your game at a certain date (like for example use 05/29/11 13:50:00) after you've prepared yourself with a sweet scenter and saved in the victory road but don't press any button after your soft-reset until you see the cutscene with the star falling, then go through the menu without activating your cgear and sweet scent, catch, write ivs (exact or range) here :p

Ah, it shouldn't be too hard after all, once you've found your parameters. You'll need to be able to soft-reset your game and you might want to widen your search in the "Find ds parameters" function of rng reporter. Apart from that, it should be like rnging with the retail cart.
