yeah there are a bunch of forums, but the main purpose is to track everything you listen to. you get a little plug-in for winamp or itunes or whatever you use, and everything you listen to gets reported back to your account on last.fm, so you can keep track of what you listen to, and link people to it if they ask what you listen to. one of the collest features though, is the recommendations. after you build up a decent sized chart, last.fm will automatically start recommending you things based on what you listen to. they see what other people that listen to your favorites are listening to that you aren't, so there's a good chance it's stuff you'll like. i've found a lot of awesome shit that way.
