I can shift, but only by turning the pokemon into a PKM file and using the Poketransfer program. Is that ok with you? If not, I'm sure someone else will be able to help you.

Well, the hotel didn't work. Every place has freakin security settings that stop my DSi. I guess I'll try Starbucks. Have you had specific experience with being able to connect at a Starbucks, or any other Wifi hotspot?
