AFAIK, split is when half IVs are taken from one frame, and other half from other. Non-splits are the normal frames. Alternative is a rare method. You get locked into one, when the egg is generated.

I have both, but the Skarmory knows Roost and Stealth Rock. It learn Spikes through level up, so it's not a big deal.
I actually need you to do me a favor on 5th Gen if you can. I have 6 different Tyranitar that I need leveled to 65. They all between 55 and 63 because the person who was Rare Candying them wasn't paying attention. I'd just like them all to be even.
