The problem is the emphasis on the "hopefully live a hit". If it does i would say yes, thats good coverage along with nice speed/attack. But the bulk it carries make it an incredibly risky play.

I personally feel like Malamar should get a little more love! its not the most powerful pokemon, thats understandable but it is very good! and it can be a set up nightmare. Bringing in a malamar on an Aegislash physical aegislash trying to set up can really mess everything up with a nice topsy...

While he's fast i can't see this doing too much on account of his low bulk. While he can no doubt take at least 1 physical attack. Not by anything with noteable power. I can't really see him getting an OU look. but i can see him crushing RU or UU
