  1. DP Tier Discussion - BL and UU (mark 2)

It's only been a couple of days, but I would like to hear some initial impressions about the group of Pokemon that was recently moved down to UU. If you haven't used them and/or seen them in action, we're not really interested in what you "think". Aerodactyl, Miltank et al are now UU so you...
  2. Smogon Shoddy Server Statistics

I did suggest that we could put these stats on a separate tab in each analysis. Strategy/Moves/Stats
  3. DP Sudowoodo

I'm not seeing what Sudowoodo really gains by using Focus Punch. I'm assuming you have actually this set, so when is Focus Punch/Stone Edge/Sucker Punch a better combination than Earthquake/Wood Hammer/Stone Edge?
  4. DP Jirachi

I always used this with U-turn/Wish/Rain Dance, then played around with the last slot a bit (Stealth Rock, Water Pulse, Thunder, screens, Protect, Zen Headbutt). I know it's tempting to throw in both of the moves that benefit from the Rain, but you should be using this as support, not trying to...
  5. DP Drapion

Drapion is actually a good switch-in on a lot of sleep inducers, both in OU (Gengar, Roserade) and UU (Hypno, Vileplume). You don't need to gear this towards one specific tier, since it will work just fine in both. Rest makes Drapion a safer switch-in against Rotom, since you can Rest off...
  6. DP Weavile .

Changes in bold. I've never seen this in action, but it looks like it could be incredibly useful.
  7. Official Doubles Rulesets

Moved to Stark. I think you'll get more of a discussion here.
  8. DP Bastiodon .

The section tags apart from [SET] and [SET COMMENTS] shouldn't fully capitalized. So they should read: [Other Options] [EVs] [Opinion] [Counters]
  9. D/P Choice Scarf Slaking .

I get the feeling that many of you who are commenting in this thread have never even tried this set. This isn't the Choice Bander, which can OHKO most Garchomp, Salamence, and Gyarados with Return. Return simply isn't enough to score the KOs needed for this set to function in the way it is...
  10. DP Persian .

    It's already up.
  11. D/P Choice Scarf Slaking .

I suggested HP because it covers both defenses. However, you are right that Slaking will usually be taking physical hits, rather than special. Putting them in Defense makes a big difference as to how much damage it takes from Garchomp, Gyarados, etc.
  12. DP Dragonite .

Ice Beam can 2HKO with Stealth Rock up, but only against the ones that focus on Defense. The versions that load up on Special Defense can survive two hits even with Stealth Rock support. Outrage always 2HKOs with Stealth Rock, regardless of Zapdos' EV spread.
  13. DP Dragonite .

Draco Meteor will never 2HKO a full strength Hippowdon, whereas Ice Beam has a very good chance at the 2HKO. Gliscor can even survive two hits (although a 2HKO is possible), but it is clearly destroyed by Ice Beam. If you want an easier time with bulky Grounds (that aren't Swampert), use Ice...
  14. DP Lopunny .

Looking at the UU targets for a Fighting move, Low Kick seems much better than Sky Uppercut. More accurate too. 120 BP - Aggron - Glalie - Golem - Lapras - Probopass - Steelix 100 BP - Bastiodon - Cloyster - Lunatone - Solrock - Walrein Seems that only Relicanth (40 BP), Sudowoodo, Omastar...
  15. DP Starmie .

This has already been taken care of.
  16. DP Lopunny .

You don't need to capitalize the tags for Move 1, Move 2, etc. I don't why everyone has started doing that. There is a copyable version of the format in the sticky. It will save you time in future. Speed is written as "Spe", not "Spd". I would just max out Speed and use Jolly, so you can tie...
  17. D/P Choice Scarf Slaking .

If you've got Return/Ice Punch/Hammer Arm/ThunderPunch all you really lose coverage on is Gengar (the punches do like 70% I think) and Metagross/Jirachi. It all comes down to what you want Slaking to kill. I would use less Speed too. Ninjask usually has Protect, and Deoxys can't OHKO with...
  18. D/P Choice Scarf Slaking .

This isn't that good as a lead really. Bronzong can still put you to sleep, Hippo can still set up Stealth Rock then Slack Off damage, Roserade still puts you to sleep since leads ones almost always have Focus Sash. Scarf or Sash Gengar is also a problem. Earthquake will never OHKO Tyranitar...
  19. DP Persian .

Do any of you bother to read the sticky? Read this.
  20. DP Scarf Palkia

Ok, you can split up the first set in the analysis into: Lustrous Orb/Life Orb - Surf - Thunder - Spatial Rend - Aqua Tail Choice Specs/Scarf (Rain) - Spatial Rend / Draco Meteor - Surf - Thunder - Aqua Tail Choice Specs/Scarf (Sun) - Spatial Rend / Draco Meteor - Fire Blast - Thunder - Focus...
