  1. Tournament Gods Among Us, OU Edition - FINALLY WON by Obliviate

Confirming loss to theinsanity, good games. I only saved the first replay http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/smogtours-ubers-75676 so hopefully he has the second but I lost both.

I'm California time, which I believe is GMT -7 making us a good 9 hours off. I'm free most of the time, what days are you thinking? Still need to build teams but shouldn't take too long.

Not sure what happened, but I did the same test on my computer instead of my calculator and got the number you posted so my b. You can do a z test or calculate it directly, doesn't really matter. Even with the new number, you could still normally conclude at the 1% level that the true chance of...

Quick statistical test (1 prop z test) shows that if the real probability of hitting a hurricane is .7, then the probability of hitting 22 or fewer out of 46 is only .000516 (which is .0516%). Normally you'd use that to conclude that the real probability of hitting isn't .7, but in this case...

It has a slightly lower damage output but doesn't take life orb recoil, plus it's not as weak to knock off. For reference, mlatios has 10 more defense and 10 less special defense than regular latias. So you're basically getting a latios with similar bulk to latias and only slightly lower damage...

What's the best set for custap skarm? I don't see it in the dex. I'm pretty sure max speed with a boosting nature is best, but is it beneficial to minimize defenses to reduce the chance of being outsped and 2hkod or better to maximize defenses to potentially set up more than 2 layers? Thanks!

HP fire is not that common on the lati twins right now, as that one speed point is crucial. Yes, they do sometimes run it and it can be viable, but with all the base 110 things running around it's really hard to justify not just using something else to hit ferro and friends.
  10. np: ORAS OU Suspect Testing, Round 1 - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles [Greninja is Uber]

Which "common" ou pokemon do you see walling Greninja? If any potential checks are common outside of stall, it's likely a result of Greninja's influence. Of course Greninja can't run all the moves you listed, but it doesn't need to. Greninja doesn't just come out as a lead and 6-0 every team...

Guys just remember, correlation doesn't imply causation :] Just because you see two mons' usage linked doesn't mean that one causes the other.
  12. XY OU Who you calling Pinhead? (Peak #85 on the ou ladder)

Welcome to the RMT! This is a team I made with a friend yeaboy12 right after aegislash was banned and have used to some success on the OU ladder (peaking at 1815, #84 on the ladder) on his alt quad5s. proof: http://imgur.com/OsucXWl (sorry, I don't know how to do that better.) We...

Hey I want to submit an RMT but I can't find how to do hide tags (for importable) or how to tag a certified rater that I want to rate my team. Could you help me? thanks.

I just want to say thank you so much for doing this. I find it really interesting and these teams are very fun to play with.
  16. Data Data-Driven Team Building & Theorymon

Right. A really good computer player would still have a tough time because sometimes team matchups are totally against you. Also, I don't know how a computer could handle situations where you are in against a set up sweeper and have to choose between switching out and risking a set up and...
  17. Data Data-Driven Team Building & Theorymon

I would imagine that if computers can beat professional chess players, it would be possible to program a computer that could compete with us. Of course, in chess everyone has the same "team" and since chess is far more popular, far more effort is put towards programming computer players.
  18. np: XY OU Suspect Testing Round 5 - Ghost of Perdition

Why is it so bad that when teambuilding with mega pinsir, you have to choose between countering aegislash or countering skarm and rotom wash? Would you rather mega pinsir be able to rampage though everything? You're not forced to run EQ, you could also run CC and use pinsir to clean up the game...
