  1. R.I.P. Leads and Scouting

Good game Trick Room teams. One glance and you can tell what it's based on. However, I'm loving this because of the latter. This opens up tons and tons of possible strategies and mroe and more mind games. EDIT:: In my opinion Pokelab and/or shoddy should make these changes, because won't...
  2. Bye bye Latias! Bring in the apes...

I haven't been to Smogon in a while, but I guess Heracross will be climbing out of its hole now that Cresselia seems to get more popular. Cress is also beat by Tyranitar, who's beat by 'Nape... Who's beat by Cresselia :p
  3. CAP 8 CAP 8 - Part 3 - Secondary Type Poll 1

    I'll have to say DRAGON.
  4. How do you switch into T-Bolt/T-Wave?

    Heracross is sad.
  5. Stop Using Him! (Dragonite Discussion)

I have to admit, I didn't read the whole thing. But I read the sets and they seem pretty solid.
  6. Netbattle just got DPgraded!

Why not just use NBS to battle a select few people and Shoddy to battle competitively?
  7. Evasion: Hit or Miss?

Gliscor. Isn't that a good enough reason to be liberal towards evasion? Not to mention other Sand Veilers, Snow Cloakers or anything that has the possibility to manifest it with excellent support. However, let's take the thread a turn towards psychology in Shoddy. We had very well detailed...
  8. Hardest part of the meta-game for you to understand!

-Realizing that even if you can counter every single thing in the Standard metagame, you most likely won't be able to run an effective strategy. Propably the reason I got to Trick Room.
  9. Evasion: Hit or Miss?

I don't even think Never-Miss moves should be even mentioned; they have only 60 BP and 90 with stab. Not only that, but anything that is Baton Passed to tends to hold 252hp/252atk or spatk. Considering Tyranitar's ridiculously high offenses and defenses and resistances to Aerial Ace, Shadow...
  10. np: UU - A New Beginning

+speed sounds like a good idea. From my experience, Frosslass carries a Sash. IIRC, 2 layers equal 17.25% damage? That's exactly what Claydol is for, isn't it? :D
  11. np: UU - A New Beginning

I've been having some success with this lead Drapion: Drapion @ Leftovers Impish/Careful 252hp/4def/252spe Battle Armor -Toxic Spikes -Knock Off -Taunt -Confuse Ray/Screech/Whirlwind/Protect Holds a ton of physical attacks back, but doesn't fare too good against Special ones, excluding Grass...
  12. np: UU - A New Beginning

8 months? Eventually: "Lol, gen 5 is out and we're testing Manaphy"
  13. -The Twisted- (New UU)

I heard about the new UU and started to construct a team: a very useful team with some little changes of how I used it in Standard. All Pokémon, except Espeon, have 0 IVs in Speed and a -Spd Nature. All Pokémon are Female or Genderless in order to counter teams that spam Attract. A brief...
  14. New OU List (January 2009)

Most likely because it was announced on the news. I think another topic should have been created, don't you agree?
  15. New OU List (January 2009)

True; overall, Tangrowth is bulkier. However, Leafeon is faster, but doesn't have a great ability to work with. So it's pretty much up to the player to decide whether to take the faster sweeper/passer or the bulkier sweeper/supporter. They do do(c wut i did thar?) different things, after all ;)
  16. Legacy Raider's in all the good Warstories

Excellent warstory :) Where can I get those pictures that show your and the opponent's teams' HPs?
  17. New OU List (January 2009)

I'd like to see Tangrowth to fall for 3 Luvdisc Surfs. Tangrowth get's faster under the sun, but yeah, Vileplume, Bellosom and Butterfree are better at powdering.
  18. New OU List (January 2009)

I counted how many of each types there are on OU. If a Pokémon has two types, its types go in two sections. I'm too lazy to look if this has been done already: Normal: 4 Fighting: 5 Fire: 2 Bug: 5 Grass: 2 Rock: 3 Flying: 9(!) Steel: 10(!!) Dragon: 4 Psychic: 9(!) Ground: 7 Ghost: 3 Electric...
  19. Smogon Shoddy Server Statistics - December 2008

This gen Scizor, Heatran and Salamence are the most popular sweepers. And I think it will stay this way.
  20. np: Latias - Don't Do the Dew! (NOTE: explanation of Skymin's fate within)

Not only that, but it isn't hard to notice that Latios is the superior one in player's eyes. It would be hard to test Latias when Latios is present.
