To what extent do perfect IVs are significant?

Yes it does. On the "significant" part, it depends on how much you think you will play with said pokemon. As you said, most damage rolls are based on "luck factor". But the "luck factor" is statistics. And having that +X% on rolls helps you in the long run, and you will notice this the more...

Hey all, with the release of Swampertite, Blazikenite and Sceptilite, I thought of rebuilding a a Rain Team with M-Swampert, which is a pokemon I love. And thanks to the new MegaEvolution mechanics, it should check Swift Swim from M-Swampert at the start of the turn, if I'm not mistaken...

    International Challenge May 2017

Disconnects take a bit more time to get recorded, as the system must check who disconnected and who should deserve the win. So you won't be able to see it immediately. If they didn't give points on disconnects, everyone would do it when they lose, and it would be a world of chaos! :P And it...

    International Challenge May 2017

10-5 for the first day of the competition, with a team featuring: Z-Giga Impact Braviary Scarfchomp Togedemaru Waterium-Z Gyarados + Arcanine Bulky Fini I found that team on youtube, being played by a good italian player, and I fell in love with it. Firing off big hits and being able to play a...

    Building a team around Celesteela

I agree with MDK. I'll add: do you want to play a semi-trick room team or a full-trick room team? Adding a second TR user pushes you into that last direction, for example. I personally prefer going for a semi-trick room, as it gives you much more versatility: Celesteela (on this team it's...

Scoreboard is up on PGL! (seems like nothing on Megastones yet) Finished 393th worldwide and top50 in Italy with 1708 rating, I'm very happy with my result! Looking to get a better one in the May's competition! How did you guys do? :)

BSS Teambuilding & Help Thread (SuMo Edition Reloaded 2.0)

Hey all, I just built a heavy Trick Room team based on Mega Mawile, Scrafty, and Cresselia, as I've been having moderate success with it in the battle tree, and I would like to try it out in a more real competitive setting, the Battle Spot Doubles. Mawile @ Mawilite Ability: Intimidate Level...

Has anyone had any experiences with Eeveepass teams? I tried a comp with Clefairy+Eevee+M-Gyarados+A-Marowak, but found too many crappy Roar users (me cries). When it worked, M-Gyarados was invincible doing 1v4 lol. When it didn't work, I struggled a bit against Paralysis (sometimes A-Marowak...

Resource VGC: Ask a Simple Question, Get a Simple Answer

Agreed on Metagross. Draconium-Z Salamence as Special Attacker is pretty viable, gives Intimidate support and anti-EQ. Just pay attention to the timing of your Dragon Moves if the opponent has any fairies in Team Preview (or don't bring Mence at all).

Is that always for doubles? 1) Politoed has a more supportive role than Pelipper, using Encore to force opposing pokemons to switch out (unless they want to die) and Helping Hand to boost its partner's damage. You can also run Perish Song to get the kill on opponent's last two pokemons (just...

Meteor Mash on Metagross is a pretty strong hitter. That way you have a move to hit those Tapu Leles under Psychic Terrain. Mind you that when I said that EQ wasn't good on that Metagross was solely because you had no Protects on the team, and every partner except for Pelipper would take damage...

Hey, On Rain Team, you should try a Volt Switch / U-Turn user. This gives you a chance to reset weather in some situations where you have your Rain setter out and the VS/UT user out: you switch out rain setter, go for VS/UT, and switch again in your setter. Other than that, having VS/UT gives...

They do. You don't get/lose automatically the points, but they will update in like 1-2hr. So tomorrow you will probably find some extra points on your screen. If it was that easy, everyone could do that and not lose points! :P I encountered two people that disconnected clearly on purpose too...

    International Challenge April 2017

On day2 I went with a disappointing 9-6 (Masters). The games I lost were: -Against two trick room teams: couldn't do much, other than leading with different pokemons (I started with double duck against torkoal+oranguru. I learned the lesson and won the next games against same teams leading with...

    International Challenge April 2017

For now I'm 13-2 with double duck team passed to me by a friend of mine (Z-Golduck, Sash Pelipper, AV Buzzwole, WP Metagross, Scarf Xurkitree, Miracle Seed Bulu). I did far better than my previous day1 online competitions, so I'm very happy with that! The thing I don't get is why people bring...

    Help with Rain team

I'm currently testing on SD a Rain Team, and I can say that Encore on Golduck is pretty nasty. As it is the faster thing on the field, you can easily lock enemies on a bad move (like Protect spam, setup spam, and such), so they won't be a threat. This is the set I'm using on Golduck (courtesy...
