Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
This team has been doing pretty well for me on shoddy battle, but I feel like it could be tightened up a bit. I'll note which parts I feel are strong or weak.
Azelf @ Focus Sash
Naive 4 atk/252 speed/252 sp atk
-Explosion
-Fire Blast
-Psychic
-Stealth Rock
A normal lead. Tries to drop...
Blastburner - you're referring to the first (or 0th, I can't remember) rule of thermodynamics - energy is never created nor destroyed. The next rule of thermodynamics says that during every energy conversion some energy is lost from the system. In this case we're turning all kinds of the...
The scientist part of me says that the world is perfectly neutral. It's composed of physical law that is perfectly enfored without any sway toward anything.
However, the other (and probably bigger) part of me says that logic itself is flawed. If physical law exists and governs existance...
Yanmega 4x resists fighting, 2x resists bug, and 2x resists dark and will kill even scarfed versions with air slash. Just be sure he won't use stone edge....
Kurow - I used to share your sentiments somewhat. Then I tried him. He just didn't work. There are so many things that do what he does better, and so many things kill him/stall him to death its rediculous.
I'd say using stat-ups is a very situational tactic. You can't make a blanket "use them late game" type statement since there are so many things that could happen. What I find to be generally true is you should use a stat upper when predicting a switch, as long as what you think is coming in...
There seems to be a sudden surge of mixed dragon sets. For the most part they're fine as long as you have appropriate type coverage. Run the flavor you want, customize as your team needs.
If its purpose is to wreck walls then it doesn't have to worry about staying in long, making the...
There's a qualifier that this is the most damage possible in singles. Since shoddy doesn't do doubles, we can't use flower gift and helping hand. But yeah, they would raise the max damage.
I never really liked the idea of subpunch boltbeam dragonite being a skarmbliss counter just because so many blisseys carry around icebeam. That being said, I agree that dragonite has a lot of untapped potential. He has base 100 sp atk, which is only 10 less than salamence, making draco meteor...
From what I gather he wasn't being sexist, but I'm kinda reserved to judge fully without having seen the original statements.
Still, those people were being very immature about the situation and that's what ultimately lead to him quitting IMO.
Still, it's an eye-opener. There are people who...
Not to sound degrading, but no health effects? It physically alters the brain. That's a health effect IMO.
I've heard a lot of bad stories about it. A lot of people's minds wasted. If you do, be VERY careful, and take a low dosage at first.
I know what you meant here because I agree. I think it was kinda worded awkwardly tho. Under this wording, using whiscash with a moveset/ev spread identical to standard swampert and still winning is worthy of praise. To me it's a self-induced disadvantage not really worthy of note.
What I...
I taught myself how to program on on a TI-83+, which gave me a huge headstart when I started basic A later that year (it also helped me a ton with my math homework ;-)). I took comp sci the following year and learned visual basic, then went on to comp sci 2 AP and learned how to do a few things...
I think the main problem with pyroshuffling is that those users can generally be OHKOed by a good chunk of the standards, or at least stopped before you can get in too many WoWs. Many physical attackers run EQ at over 240 speed, which stands a good chance of OHKOing heatran even with burn. Let...
My brother would like to know how to get the kanto trainer outfit in PBR. Anyone know? If he isn't an outfit, how do you use him at all? He saw it in the japanese PBR trailer, and would really like any info.
I'd say he's popular for 2 reasons:
He's in the sinnoh dex, and people liked him when they went through the game with him, and the more probable reason:
Shadow ball is now a special attack, and with STAB and base 130 spatk everyone's gotta give it a try at least once. He also gets a slew of...
Jolteon's a lead destroyer. Tbolt takes care of a lead starmie or gyara (who might try to outspeed non-choice scarfed psychics right away with dd), shadowball takes care of gengar/alakazam openings, and twave takes care of any other speedy guys that could give you a problem. If you're nervous...
