    Pokemon you won't use in-game

I get that. Especially when you need a Fly user and most flying users are Flying Types. Gyarados sadly cannot learn Fly.

    Pokemon you won't use in-game

This thread idea came to my mind during a certain playthrough where I kept rejecting the use of a specific Pokemon for various reasons. These reasons are not because I have a vendeta against it. Usually in my first playthrough on a game I prefer using new generation Pokemon often avoiding using...

    Pokemon Evolutions that disappointed you?

Sylvally's type being dictated by Z-moves would have been fine in my opinion. At least you could use the overpowered moves. And maybe buff its signature move to 120 base power. 90 is a little too weak for something with such mediocre stats.

“That One Pokémon You Just Have Beef With”

I agree with Emboar. It might be my least favorite Starter. The worst part for me is, I get the feeling that Gamefreak purposely made the other two starters boring mono-types so Emboar looks more appealing. Also is that a Hoenn Pokemon? Slow "bulky" mixed attackers really smells like that. I...

    Pokemon Evolutions that disappointed you?

Generally, I am found of the idea of this Pokemon. It suppose to be a mini Arceus. I did not expect Sylvally to be 'good' but I was not expecting it to be THIS underwhelming in terms of usefulness. I could rant about the unoriginal evolution from Type:Null (which is probably a better Pokemon...

“That One Pokémon You Just Have Beef With”

Gen 4 added a lot of evolutions with half of them looking fat and goofy to me. In regards to Likylicky, I was not that upset until I saw the beta Licketung evolution design (which I refer as Licking because that sounds awesome). To me the final evolution downgraded the defining feature of that...

    What makes Water-types so good?

Just to add to some of the things I have written, with the starters they pretty much feel like the water type is the easy mode in most cases. RB: Squirtle learns all the important moves it needs at the right time - Water STAB destroys the 4x weak Rock/Ground types - Mega Punch TM helps out with...

“That One Pokémon You Just Have Beef With”

For me the things that bothers me are regional variants themselves. They just take an existing Pokemon and make a similar looking one but usually just better instead of improving the original. The worst ones for me are ones from Galar again due to Gen 8 onwards being pretty much everything that...

    What makes Water-types so good?

Be it in-game or competitive, the Water-type has always been prominate in one way or another. Generally the things that make it good are obvious: 1. A lot of HM moves are Water moves 2. the Water Pokemon get access to good STAB relatively early 3. Ice coverage is on almost in the moveset of any...

“That One Pokémon You Just Have Beef With”

I think I ranted about this or Zamazenta or whatever they called enough in the "Worst Pokemon" thread. They are the two Pokemon I put my dislike for anything Gen 8 and what it stands for. Pokemon have been removed from the game, content has been cut and many features that should be a given...

When exactly did the Fire-type start to rise in-game?

Ice-types really benefitted from the Gen 1 mechanics and Fire-types being awful. Freeze immunity was really huge. Offensively ice remained strong but the defensive properties became worse and Ice-types needed to be made in a different way to get better. A type I think unironically sucks is Bug...

Volcarona is my favorite Gen 2 Pokemon

(Little) Things that annoy you in Pokémon

Using Snivy in BW2... It might be the worst Starter to use in an ingame run. Offensive stats below 80 meaning you don't do much damage. It is a bulky Grass-type so you take Super Effective Damage from everything. It is a Grass-type so it deals half damage to almost everything. Coverage does not...

What pokémon got affected most by changes in the remakes of their games?

---> I don't know if I would say it is changed a lot for its performance but Togepi got a few new things that make it appealing. For one, the Donphan in the room, it can finally evolve. The bad news is, the evolution is post-game exclusive which is still vast enough to count as in-game...

    "Best Pokémon Ever"

I think the reason for that is also how these Pokemon can stand on their own. Both came to existence unrelated to each other with Ho-oh being created as the Pokemon advertising Generation 2 and generally representing the mystery of Pokemon according to the first Episode of Pokemon where you...

When exactly did the Fire-type start to rise in-game?

Seeing how Volt-Ikazuki's focused on type balancing by how Game Freak tried nerving Psychic types, I want to look from the other perspective that always intruiged me by looking how much the Fire-type improved over the years from becoming a joke of a time in RBY to almost a must have type on any...

Pokémon that exceeded your expectations in-game despite looking bad initially?

So I finished my Pokemon SoulSilver run and tried out Pokemon I didn't try in these games. Here are results of those I did not expect much but did exceed my expectation: Generally I did not want to use Entei but after being stuck on the Kimono girls I felt like I needed something that can take...

(Little) Things that annoy you in Pokémon

Ingame playthroughts in gens 3 onwards really became a hard pill for me to swallow due to Natures because catching a Pokemon and seeing it has a certain nature can really affect my desire if I want to use it or not. It is often an inconvenients. But what is worse for me is using Nidoran line in...

What pokémon got affected most by changes in the remakes of their games?

---> I don't know how people feel about Blaziken in RSE but I think in the right hands it is a fantastic Pokemon thanks to the addition of its secondary Fighting Typing. Torchic-line did struggle but generally it did learn powerful moves for the time and being able to hit hard from both sides...

What pokémon got affected most by changes in the remakes of their games?

On the topic of starters, I would also put my viewpoint regarding them (on those whom I didn't talk about to far like Chikorita, Bulbasaur and Charmander). ---> Generally moveset wise I don't think Totodile got better nor worse. Special Ice Punch replaced by physical Ice Fang and I think you...
