  1. SS OU spicy kimchi pancakes offense [peak 1730]

Awesome team, speaking from personal experience :D. Just wanted to comment to point out that sticking Clanging Scales and Clangorous soul next to each other is literally the best 9000 IQ tech ever and it works way too often :pikuh:. The only other thing I'd say is that I think iron head is a...
  2. Metagame SS OU Metagame Discussion (Usage stats in post #944)

My point here wasn't to get into the nitty gritty of complex vs. non complex bans. The post I was replying to stated that the objective was to make the most competitive game possible, which is patently false. There are limitations on what changes Smogon considers allowable or not (like the...
  3. Metagame SS OU Metagame Discussion (Usage stats in post #944)

First of all, the original comment was exactly right -- if you make this so different from the original that it's nearly unrecognizable, Smogon will eventually die off as the number of players looking to make their way into truly competitive Pokemon gradually decrease. Though it may not be...
  4. Deep Fog - an OU stall team (currently 1950)

Found this cool team trawling through RMTs. A wallbreaker might be nice as Banzaii said, but I think BD Azumarill fails hard above 2000. I think a powerful taunter can really stop the team tho, so a fast taunter might be useful.
  5. np: OU Suspect Testing Round 5 - Sandstorm (Excadrill/Thundurus Banned)

Hey JTSwift, I think you make threads like these interesting since we have to question our tiers as the game is constantly changing. Honestly though, smogon's already averse to hax and skymin is definitely not coming back. Why not focus on bringing things that are debatable, like garchomp, back...
  6. np: OU Suspect Testing Round 5 - Sandstorm (Excadrill/Thundurus Banned)

To those who say that garchomp and excadrill have the same drawbacks, I completely disagree. Garchomp is much tougher to kill because it has better typing. Being weak to Fighting, ground, fire and water is much worse than a 4x ice and 2x dragon weakness. Also, Garchomp definitely has more bulk...
  7. np: OU Suspect Testing Round 5 - Sandstorm (Excadrill/Thundurus Banned)

I completely agree. A lot of us are dancing around the words and trying to convince everyone else to ban pokemon by saying they are "detrimental to the health of the metagame." Overcentralization is getting thrown around a lot as well. I think it's one of the absolute worst reasons to ban...
  8. Hydroelectric Blackout [Peaked #2]

    any ideas for garchamp replacements?
  9. np: OU Suspect Testing Round 5 - Sandstorm (Excadrill/Thundurus Banned)

Don't Skarmory and Gliscor, two pretty common pokes, hard counter excadrill? I don't really see the problem with it. I'd also think that hippowdon could counter it quite handily.
  10. BW OU Enter the Dragon

I think scarf terrakion does a great job in chomp's spot.
  11. Re-spawn And Attack! Hyper Offensive Monsters!

It seems like swords dance scizor can give you a lot of trouble, even without a dance. CB Scizor gives you some problems too. Gyarados could easily wall it before, but right now I'm not sure if you can deal with it. Conkledurr might be something of a problem as well if it gets some bulk ups...
  12. Team Victory: The Schemes of Lucario

Thanks, I'll definitely try out the ferrothorn lead. The reason I went special on lucario though is because once you set up, hardly anything can counter it. If Chansey/Blissey come in on the switch, I can 2HKO them easily with aura sphere. I'm pretty sure with Nasty Plot, it's an OHKO. No other...
  13. Team Victory: The Schemes of Lucario

Whoops dragonite had the wrong nature. I changed it to careful and put EVs in HP for metagross. Also, I put HP Fire on Latios over psyshock since I was having trouble with some steel types. I'm wondering what people think of the crustle lead.
  14. Team Victory: The Schemes of Lucario

Thanks everyone for your advice. Much appreciated :) Dan-lo, I have never faced an offensive Serene Grace Jirachi so I'm not too familiar with how my team would hold up against it. Is there any change specifically that you think might help?
  15. Team Victory: The Schemes of Lucario

I have here a fairly straightforward offensively-oriented team, designed to quickly rip apart enemy defenses and go for a win. This idea mandates that my primary mid-game attackers shouldn't be any kind of set-up sweeper; while I still feature strong set-up moves on the team, they are rarely...
  16. Official TPCI Pokemon Tournament 2009 | Congrats to all who participated!!

Is sleep clause going to be active?
  17. With Garchomp Now in Uber....

Even though salamence might not be as sturdy (on the physical side it can take hits better becase of intimidate) as Garchomp usually, and lacks sand veil and Stab EQ, I still think its a more formidable offense now that it has outrage. I barely ever used EQ because most people predict and switch...
  18. Garchomp and this Metagame

1: Would your teams change dramatically if Garchomp never existed and if so, how? Dramatically? Not a chance because there are several other pokemon with stats similar to Garchomp that will still pose a large threat--pokemon like Salamence and Dragonite that are countered with methods similar to...
  19. Train Man VS TehWestStatMtl - A WiFi Warstory!

Thanks for the great warstory. The format was simple, but very easy to understand and it communicated the most important information. The battle was also well played out, although the crits definitely swung the battle too much for my liking; you can't do anything about that though.
