  1. Trick Tactics - A Guide to Trick Room in VGC

As an additional note for Togekiss: Togekiss also has access to Helping Hand as well as Tri-Attack from XD: Gale of Darkness, although using these moves means it can't utilize any egg moves, and its IVs will not be perfect.
  2. Charizard [QC 3/3]

Rapidash deserves a mention as a check and one of the closest things to an offensive counter Charizard has: it's immune to Fire Blast (thanks to Flash Fire), can take an Air Slash (I'm not sure of the damage though, can someone do damage calcs?), and can outspeed and retaliate with Wild Charge...
  3. Equal BST Metagame

Abra: 38/30/22/155/81/133 Alakazam: 52/47/42/126/80/112 Yep, sight improvement in ability to take Physical attacks, but at the cost of 29 points of Special attack and 21 points of Speed. In this metagame, Pokemon can get worse as they evolve. We just figured out why Ash's Pikachu doesn't want...
  4. Equal BST Metagame

Just from a quick cursory glance, Abra's absolutely insane: It's got 155 SpA, 81 SpDef, and 133 Speed. Admittedly it's got no physical bulk, but Substitute can help, and Magic Guard+Life Orb means it will hit like a NUKE with Psychic/Shadow Ball. The only problem is it has to rely on HP...
  5. Sunny Delight

I think Rapidash is a really underrated Sunny Day attacker in general. It has a Base Speed of 105, making it the fastest fire type in NU, as well as the fastest Sunny Day setter that can actually USE the Sun it sets up. Flash Fire means it laughs at Charizard's Fire Blast, and can Wild Charge it...
  6. Ask a Simple Question; Get a Simple Answer MK V: We're Back!

Another good place to train is in the two Courts in Nimbasa City; after 3 rematches all the Pokemon in there are ~LV 67. The matches are once a day and you can usually get around 20-25 Levels with a Lucky Egg. One person, Doctor Jules, has a Lv 67 Audino.
  7. Guide to Sunny Day teams in BW RU [HTML]

You mention Flash Fire in Entei's analysis under "Threats to sunny teams"; Flash Fire Entei isn't released, and ExtremeSpeed would be illegal even if it was. Articlewise, I think Rapidash deserves a mention: Flash Fire keeps the opponent from turning the sun against you, and provide free...
  8. Haunter

Under Other Options it lists that accuracy of Hypnosis as 65%; Hypnosis has only 60% accuracy. Also, no mention of Giga Drain in Other Options? It's mentioned in Haunter's RU analysis as a health replenishing alternative to Thunderbolt.
  9. Ask a Simple Question, Get a Simple Answer MK IV: Read the FAQ in the Opening Post

Would there ever be a reason to use a neutral nature (Bashful, Docile, Hardy, Quirky, Serious) or a Gentle (+SpD -Def) or Lax (+Def -SpD) nature for any Pokemon? Or would there always be a better option?
  10. What have we learned from Gen. V?

Actually, Kyurem was too powerful for UU, so he now sits in BL. :( One thing we learned about Smogon was how fast everyone here works; the metagame was mostly balanced out before Black and White were even released in English. That's seriously impressive.
  11. What have we learned from Gen. V?

One thing we learned is just how poor a typing Ice is; Kyurem has a 660 BST, and despite having an ability that doesn't hamper it (Slaking/Regigigas), it didn't even make it into OU, much less Ubers. Also, Power Creep doesn't just apply to Pokemon, it applies to moves as well: back in Gen 3...
  12. Whimsicott (QC 3/3) (GP 2/2)

I think the Sunny Day Support set would be better with Bold instead of Impish; 120 Power STAB SolarBeam>70 Power Non-STAB U-Turn, unlike the other sets which use Impish because U-Turn is the only attacking move on them.
  13. Gen V Balanced Hackmons

Even better would be Swift Swim Water Spout Palkia with Drizzle Support. I've actually used Water Spout Kingdra+ Drizzle Politoed in Battle Subway Doubles (yes, it's just as cheap as it sounds); it's terrifying how much power Water Spout Kingdra has, I can only imagine what Palkia could do...
  14. Heatran (Magma Storm) [QC 3/3] (GP 2/2)

Nice Magma Storm set, getting past Blissey is something most Heatran can only dream about. Be sure to mention Magma Storm's accuracy buff from 70%-75%; it's now the same accuracy as Will-O-Wisp. Binding Band (Increases Magma Storm's end of turn damage from 1/16 to 1/8 of the target's max HP)...
  15. Ask a Simple Question, Get a Simple Answer MK IV: Read the FAQ in the Opening Post

Answer from a previous page that raises another question: So Nintendo checks for hacked Pokemon and does not allow their use in tournaments, but allows pokemon with movesets that are impossible to obtain without hacking? Is my analysis correct? If so, why are they even bothering checking if...
  16. Rapidash (Sunny Day) (QC 3/3) (GP 2/2)

Hmm, good set, seconding what erisia says about Naive, no reason to gimp Solarbeam, since it's pretty much the whole point of this set. Remove the Baton Bass mention from additional comments; Baton Pass is an XD purification move and is illegal with Morning Sun and Hypnosis, since both are egg...
  17. Regigigas (Analysis) [QC 4/3] [GP 2/2] [Done]

Quick note: Durant was officially banned from RU, so you can remove the mention of it from checks and counters.
  18. Kecleon [QC 3/3] [GP 2/2]

Minor spelling error under Checks and Counters: Color Change makes Kecleon unique, but easy to counter. Fighting-types, such as Gallade, Medicham, and Sawk, can pry on Kecleon's lower Defense and hit it before Color Change kicks in. I think that is supposed to be "prey", but otherwise this...
  19. Ask a Simple Question, Get a Simple Answer MK IV: Read the FAQ in the Opening Post

If a Pokemon traces Regenerator, then switches out, does it gain health from Regenerator?
  20. Metagross (Full Revamp) (QC 3/3)

Just a quick note, the Trick+Iron Ball set was finally completed and uploaded, so Berserker Lord can officially add the set. http://www.smogon.com/forums/showpost.php?p=4101787&postcount=50 http://www.smogon.com/bw/pokemon/metagross/ou (Set's at the bottom)
