Are there known to be false positives for shinyness using cute charm? I just got one that matches everything in th PIDRNG, minus being shiny.

Okay, so far as I follow: don't have international parents on white, and don't have the shiny charm on w2. Theoretically it should work to let a bred egg on white hatch shiny on w2 like that, correct?

Does the version matter when searching for shinies, or just the TID/SID? Since I can't RNG on w2, would using my w2's TID/SID let me RNG breed something on white that I could hatch shiny on w2?

Coincidently, the next try after asking I hit the right seed with Chatot use. So problem definitely solved, I had some real nice bad timing. Glad that's all it was.
