  1. NP: UU - Silent Night

Sceptile, either SD with ice punch or special with HP whatever. Subseed Jumpluff is also fairly good at drawing out grass-types, but has trouble doing anything to them.
  2. Retesting the Suspects

See the bolded part? It isn't true. The metagame is very, very different from when some of the suspects were banned. The only reason anyone has suggested a retest is because of there is the very real possibility that some of the BL pokemon would not be BL nowadays. Somehow you have failed to...
  3. Makin' it Rain: UU Rain discussion

Kabutops loses to Toxicroak without return. SE is a 2HKO without an SD, and Croak easily OHKOs with a +2 vaccum wave. Getting an SD in is hardly a guarantee.
  4. np: UU - The Boys Are Back in Town

Pursuit Ambipom is overspecialized? The things I learn here amaze me.
  5. np: UU - The Boys Are Back in Town

According to the September stats, 60% of Uxies were leads and only 21.6% of all Uxies carried a scarf. At most, a third of all lead Uxies were scarfers. Virtually all of these also had trick.
  6. New UU List (October 2009)

Pursuit is seen on few leads besides Ambipom. Moltres is the only common scarfer lead, who often carries u-turn but can hit Zam plenty hard with any attack anyway. I can't see Zam being much besides pursuit-bait without sub or exceptional prediction.
  7. New UU List (October 2009)

Yanmega is definitely getting kicked out. SpecZam is going to die fast using just psychic, with so many dark-types with pursuit running around. I think we are just going to see darks become more popular without much of a splash from Zam.
  8. The Move: Super Fang

Super fang is going to give Registeel hell, while walls with a proper recovery move will become more popular. Not entirely sure if more Clefables and Chanseys is a good thing, but fewer Registeels is.
  9. NP: UU - Dragonfly

I am kalec. Didn't use any alts.
  10. The Move: Super Fang

It's going to be an interesting change, at least. Not like we can really predict what is going to happen to the metagame. We tried that when D/P were on their way, and were way off.
  11. Pokémon HeartGold & SoulSilver - The Offical Competitive Discussion Thread

Lots of big changes for UU 'mons. Recover on Quaggy is going to be interesting.
  12. np: UU - Higher Ground

Roserade, Yanmega, Registeel, and Milotic are too damn common. Heres to hoping the next tier changes bring in some fresh blood.
  13. Team: Rise of the Phoenix - An UU RMT

I would keep Primape. Being able to absorb sleep is very valuable with Roserade running amok. Give Primape Ice Punch over SE since most fliers will be hit hard enough by ice punch or are Honchkrow who is hit harder by CC anyway. Not having to rely on 80% accuracy on your revenge killer is a nice...
  14. np: UU - Higher Ground

Finally got my dev down. Pain in the ass. Outside of Yanmega, I don't see anything with a serious chance of being moved to BL. Duggy hasn't killed stall all on his own, Milo and Registeel are tough but manageable, and there are a wide variety of viable strategies. I'm much more interested in...
  15. Local Doubles Tournament [Warstory]

I liked the first warstory. You did a good job explaining why you did what you did. It didn't work out, but that happens to everyone.
  16. np: UU - Higher Ground

After a fairly lengthy hiatus, I have come back to shoddy. Yanmega is an unpleasant change, but I am not shedding any tears over Shaymin being kicked out. I have played some games with CB Kanga, running max atk and adamant, with evs in defense and HP over speed. The idea is that this gives...
  17. RMT [UU], "2500 Degrees(F)"

I have used Ambi as a lead for a while, and have found lum berry a better item then silk scarf. Lum lets him remain an asset after switching into twave or wow, lets him come in on Smeargle's spore, which I have found is well worth a bit of power.
  18. np: UU - Six Deadly Suspects

Almost anything faster then froslass = overspecialized Froslass counter now?
  19. UU Sunny Day

For Azumarril, try running aqua jet as your STAB, and use return for your reliable move. Jet is good enough for anything susceptible to water, while return hits almost everything very, very hard which takes a lot of the guesswork out of the choice band.
  20. np: UU - Six Deadly Suspects

I disagree. I think we are seeing that Abomasnow was what put hail teams over the top. He made Stallrein a beast, made Froslass even more annoying, gave Glaceon even more offense, and was a threat in his own right. Froslass didn't break UU until the merge with BL, which brought in, guess who...
